Hello!
My name is Chloé. I live in Montreal (where I am from) with my husband Andy (who is from Newcastle England) and our chihuahua Oddjob!

Before settling down in Canada three years ago, Andy and I lived in/all over England together for two years.
During those years we did a looot of workaway-ing, travelling, hitchhiking and Couchsurfing!
We used Andy’s account as our primary CS account.

After getting back from travelling we knew that we couldn’t go back to working « normal jobs » and knew that we wanted to work for ourselves. We eventually opened a small thrift store and over the years have grown and moved into a 7000sqft location! We love what we do and are passionate about everything thrifting! If you are as well, then you’re definitely in the right place!

Now that we have finally settled we’re looking forward to giving back to the community and sharing what we have with fellow travellers :)

PS. Oddjob loves people and children but is scared of other dogs and for that reason we will unfortunately not be able to host anyone travelling with dogs :(

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My husband, Andy, first introduced me to CS!
Since then we have travelled 20+ countries only using CS.
We both believe strongly in the CS community and that this is way more than just a free way to travel.
We can’t wait to finally give back as hosts but aren’t going to accept any copy/pasted messages that haven’t been personalized - I hate to do this but please include my husband’s name as well as my own in your greeting. It’s just polite and also shows that you’ve read my profile :) Requests that don’t mention both our names won’t be accepted.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve worked a few seasons as a tree planter in Northern Canada (considered to be one of the world’s toughest jobs). I’ve also planted in northern Scotland! I’ve planted over 350 thousand trees!

Both my husband and I are fluent in French (Québécois) & English and are ready to have conversations in either one of these languages!
(We also have basic German that we hope to improve!)
