Hi, I'm new to couch surfing. I will get verified as soon as I can. I'm 50, married to an avid camper and IT guy. I've been working as an RN for 10 years, am an Army veteran, lived as a runaway in NYC when I was a teen for a year. I now have 3 beautiful grandchildren, and we are selling and donating everything we own, selling the house and heading off in the 4runner with the hammocks and a tent for a cross country adventure. We are leaving NC and heading to the CA redwoods for a visit. We'll stop along the way to see my daughter in CO, my gma in NE, my dad is in Santa Rosa CA, family in PA, then heading up to Caribou ME area to search out some land and start our homestead. We plan to buy an old camper to live in while we save to build our tiny house. And our adventure begins ...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Ooops I filled out the About me and included the why I'm couchsurfing in that section. Planning the trip across the country with the hammocks and tent. I am trying to break out of my comfort zone more and meet new people. I tend to be introverted in life and need to branch out. We're getting up there in years, 50 and 48, scraping together enough to pay off the debt and have gas and food money for this long trip. I was in the hospital with pneumonia that almost took me out last year (out of the blue, had never been sick before or since) but it did make us realize that life is short and we better see that grand canyon now!
I'm thinking a couch will be a welcome relief occasionally while we camp across the country!

I'll start by saying my husband loves Techno.
I love Queen, Cat Stephens, The Beatles, Earth WInd and Fire, Neil Young and a lot of different kinds of music.
Movies...Jaws is the best. There are lots of great movies out there. I love Will Ferrel

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel like I've done a few but if Amazing means challenging, I'd say made it through nursing school as a single mom with three teenagers, newly divorced. Basic training was hard but had nothing on nursing school!

Teach, Learn, Share

I cook without measuring, I'm interested in natural remedies, cures, prevention, essential oils, beginning homesteading, living off the grid. Solar, I'm an expert painter at this point...house painter not artist.

It's very different for me to ask for anything, I'm much more comfortable helping others, always doing what I can for others.
