About Me

I am an environmental scientist interested in global climate change. Climate change is unique problem as it threatens livelihoods on a global scale. In order to control climate change we must make a global effort to reduce heat trapping emissions. Through volunteering and traveling, I hope to learn about the climatic issues plaguing other countries and the various socioeconomic factors that make addressing climate change difficult. In addition, I would like to study sustainable farming practices in order to educate people on how they can reduce their carbon footprint.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

People say that traveling makes you more open minded but it's really the people you meet along the way. I believe the best way to learn about the world is though other peoples experiences. Yeah, sure, books can teach you a lot, but you'll never understand the human condition by picking up a text book. Every person you meet exposes you to new ideas and world views. My goal is to create meaningful and long lasting connections with people while sharing some laughs along the way. I want to leave every person I meet believing I touched their life in a positive way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My brother and I are traveling to Thailand to help out with Asian elephant conservation efforts. Our mission is to reduce Human-Elephant conflict in the region by educating people on the importance of these gentle giants and how habitat loss/fragmentation poses serious threats to their population.
