About Me

Hey! I’m a solo traveler and a college student in Denver, Colorado and I’m studying international relations along with Spanish and Chinese. I also am a preschool teacher and hope to travel the world and teach English after I graduate college! I started traveling a lot two years ago ever since a trip to China and I haven’t been able to stop since! Since I’m a college student, I love traveling cheap and love that this is a free way to stay places and also meet locals. I strongly think that the best part about traveling is the people you meet, which is why I would love to stay with locals and learn about their countries from their perspectives! I’m very understanding and very flexible with accommodation, never picky, and would be so grateful for your help! I would love to hear your stories and become your life long friend! My Instagram is @aliciadela_

Also I feel that this unfortunately needs to be said after receiving some messages on here, I do NOT use couch surfing for dates/hook ups! Please respect this :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting locals when I travel, and I feel like this is a perfect way to do so! I usually stay in hostels when traveling, but I do not meet a lot of locals, and therefore would like to learn about the country I am in from the perspective of a local because I can learn so much more about a country this way. I’m also always interested in meeting people living in a country that is foreign to them, because I want to do the same in the future! Every time I travel to a country, my favorite memories are always the ones that are with people I met from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love rock and folk music! My favorites are Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Wilco, Radiohead, The Beatles, the Velvet Underground, Pink Floyd, and Jimi Hendrix. I also loveee 90s music, and am a huge Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and Foo Fighters fan. I used to frequently go to concerts too!
Movies: Spirited Away, The Elephant Man, Pulp Fiction, Motorcycle Diaries, Across the Universe, Silence of the Lambs, Awakenings, What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, and anything by Wes Anderson. I also absolutely love watching documentaries!
Books: the Bell Jar, Night, Siddhartha, Into the Wild, Waiting for Godot, A Tale of Two Cities, To Kill a Mockingbird, and many Chuck Palahniuk books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time I decided to take a bus from Barcelona to a tiny country called Andorra, and then once I got there I spontaneously decided to hike to France on my own!

I also hiked Rainbow Mountain (17,000 feet/5182 meters) when I had Bronchitis!

I studied at a university in northern Spain for a month and stayed at a homestay with a local host mom while I was there!

I reached 30 countries by 20 years old!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can answer any questions about the United States, I can teach you about Italian and Mexican culture (I am Italian and Mexican) I also can teach you about photography, how to play the guitar (I’m definitely not a pro though), and if you need any tutoring on English (even slang used in the United States) or Spanish, or would want to learn some Chinese, I am happy to help!
Learn: I would love to learn about your culture, and anything you know about your country! I am studying international relations at my university so I am very interested in foreign politics, economics, human rights, etc. I also love learning new languages!
Share: I can share you my stories from my travels, and I hope you will too! I really love listening to people’s tips and stories for my own travel inspiration in the future:) I also would love to site see or do activities with hosts, if they would want to too!
