About Me

Hi there ! My name is Laurence, and I'm a 22 years old art major.
I'm very sociable and I loooove to learns about new cultures and I really value the time spent with people I meet during my trips. I love discovering a city along with locals and enjoying a typical night out with them. However I also really enjoy time spent alone, where I can peacefully visit cities at my own pace.
I really love music, and although I mainly listen to jazz, I can vibe to about anything. I love to draw and paint, if you're interested we can make collective artwork together ! I'm a feminist and it's really important to me that everything is done in the respect of the other's limits and consent :)
I hope to continue to meet a lot of amazing people everywhere in the world !!
My mother tong is French, so if you want to learn some a the language I'd be happy to teach you the basics!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I think it's the best way to meet people and learn about their cities. It 's also a way to share music, big dinners, cultures and ideas with strangers around the world, and hopefully make friends.
It's also very useful to know places to visit and to avoid tourists traps.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite jazzmen and jazzwomen are Stan Getz, Billie Holiday, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, AL Cohn, Oscar Peterson, Joao Gilberto and Cannoball Adderley. I also love the bands Radiohead, Les Louanges and the Montreal singer Patrick Watson.
My favorite books are historical books, like Les Rois Maudits and all the books from Jeanne Bourin, Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've worked for two years in a collectively run non-profit student coffee shop with lots of amazing friends.
After that, when I was 19 (2018) I decided to no go to university (for the time being) to travel on my own for a couple of month, which was one of the hardest thing I have done, but also one of the best ! That is actually how I met my best friend :)
Since then I've travelled quite a lot and I've gone back to school. I'm currently studying Fine Art in Montréal. Now, because of Covid-19, my classes are given online, so it would be the perfect time to start travelling again while staying in school, but we can't travel..........
