Overview
About Me
I am a student of humanities. Specificially I am studying or I studied once Art History, Political Science, Scandinavian and Slavic/Slavonic studies. I am from an area, called "Ruhrgebiet" in Germany, 40-50 kilometers close to the Netherlands :-). I love art, literature, coffee, cake and in generall everything that is vintage. Furthermore I am very much into film and theatre, but the biggest passion I have got is travelling, seeing the world and get to know a lot of different cultures, countries and of course people. I really do believe that cultural exchange could make a difference in the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I guess a lot of people would say that about themselves but that doesn´t make it less true for myself. I really do love meeting new people, especially from different countries / cultures. To travel and to see the world and its people is by far the greatest passion I have in my life. Mostly I don´t travel in order to make "holiday", I travel to see and learn as much of the world as possible. Couchsurfing is a way in achieving that, because you can see the place you are staying a little bit through the eyes of a local who can help you understand her/his country, as well as the people and their culture. As well as I like staying with locals, I also do like to host people from arround the world and let me tell something about their country, culture and there life there :-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My girlfriend and me hiked all the way from Glasgow to Milngavie, from where we started to hike on the famous West Highland Way all the way up to Fort William. We just took a break half the way and hitchhiked (on recommendation of a busker in Glasgow :-) ) To Oban from where we took a ferry to the beautiful Islands of Mull and Iona before we headed back to Oban to finish the West Highland Way. This was a journey of four to five weeks which we spent basically just in nature. We slept under the stars in the beautiful Scottish Highlands and got to know so many friendly and helpful people like during no other journey before or after.
Another amzing thing I did was to travel from Duisburg via Berlin and Warsaw to Kyiv and back (4000 kilometers in total) just by trains and the last bit from Warsaw on an old 1960ies Soviet Train (I love these trains and I keep returning to former USSR-countries ever since to ride on these old night trains :-) )
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some stuff about art history or teach you little bit Scandinavian languages, like Danish or Norwegian, if you are interested in that :-) I also really love to cook and prepare food, so I could cook for you or we could simply do it together while having a chat :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my love for travelling, exchange travel stories, I can share my love and passion for arts, literature and films. We could talk about basically everything like history, literature, travelling, films, TV-shows, modern society, food, coffee, etc, etc. :-)
