About Me
I’m a fifth year Medical student. I am originally from Vilnius, Lithuania. But since last fall I am doing my Erasmus exchange in Germany.
I’m passionate about my study area, but I also want to see as much of the world, as I can. I trully believe that the only way to trully experience new countries is to meet with locals, because they are the only ones, who can tell what does the everyday life look like in that particular country, what makes it special and unique (and I trully believe every country is unique).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love travelling, but doing it without meeting any locals is in some way not as fulfilling as it could be, so I want to experience that.
Music, Movies, and Books
Gabriel Garcia Marquez 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' and F. Scott Fitzgerald 'The Great Gatsby' some of the greatest books I have read.
For music I love Beirut, alt-J, FOALS, Glass Animals, but also I like music from older times (Fox on the run was my favorite song while growing up, thanks to my dad).
I love quality films, those with great meaning and cleverly dirrected as “Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri”, “Silence”, “Moonlight”. However, I also enjoy fantasy. My favourites are Lord of the Rings (have read all the books too!) and Star Wars.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I studied in International Baccalaureate, so instead of finishing school in my native language, I got a bilingual (English/Lithuanian) diploma!
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you some Lithuanian - the oldest Indoeuropean language that is considered to be quite difficult, but I’m sure you could manage ;)
As a medicine student, I could offer some intersting facts about human body, but as I am not yet a doctor, I won’t be able to diagnose you ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a truly unique insight into the life of Vilnius - capital of Lithuania, if you ever visit here.
Also, I love to talk about a lot of topics and I think that as a young person from post-sovietic country, who has lived abroad, my perspective is quite unique.
