Overview
About Me
Hi, I‘m Laurin from Vienna!
I‘m a tall and sporty chemist who just finished his degree, now i‘m taking a year off to see the world and its people. I‘m a relaxed and polite person and i get along with almost everyone i meet as i think there‘s a unique quality to be found in every human being!
I like science and movies but i also enjoy a lot of different kinds of sports, first and foremost is my passion for partner acrobatics (similar to acroyoga, more people know that), beach volleyball and sailing. I also love singing and playing the guitar and i‘m looking forward to learn a lot of new songs on the road.
I‘m a bit of a minimalist and don‘t need a lot of space or luxury in my life and i‘m striving to live my life with little ressource consumption and as sustainable as i can. This is why i‘m now traveling only by train, bus and sailboat, with which i want to do the transatlantic crossing this winter.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think couchsurfing is a great way for travellers to get to know the inner workings of the places they‘re going, in return giving some travelling feeling to their hosts. I liked hosting people from all over the world back when i had a flat where it was possible and i hope that i can find likeminded people now that offer me a bed, couch or piece of ground for my inflatable mattress.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Northern sweden in summer, almost 24/7 of sun, in the wilderness with a drinking water lake where i could submerge my head for drinking, amazing feeling.
Teach, Learn, Share
I always want to learn more about different cultures, in return i can tell a few stories about typical austrian quirks
I like increasing my guitar skills and i'm more than happy to teach beginners a thing or two, i can be a patient teacher
Science is a big passion for me and if people are interested, i have a lot of day to day examples that can help understand the fascinating world of chemistry.
I can also teach basic acrobatics moves, it sounds more scary than it actually is ;)
