About Me
▶️TO HOSTS: I understand how people feel when they get too many spam requests or their own home is not treated well, and I will never do that to you either your house or your family’s daily life.
▶️TO TRAVELLERS: I am currently in Montreal not in a suitable situation to accommodate travellers. Yet if you are gonna visit Montreal, I would like to meet up with you and show you around this city! I am also interested in meeting people who live in or nearby Montreal if by chance!
▶️About me: Born and bred in Taipei, Taiwan, I travelled by myself to Beijing after graduating from high school. My undergrad major is film studies. After working for a while, I started to feel stressed out by the living condition and wanted to relocate. I decided to leave China for North America at the age of 24, and my first stop was Boston. After staying Boston for a short while, I decided to go to Canada and potentially settle down there. Though not as energetic as my 10s and early 20s, I still consider myself to be an outdoor person.
▶️My long-term goal: a communal house. permaculture (a circular system rather than a linear one). sustainable tourism
▶️My short-term goal: As an over-schooling girl, I hope to finish my school education and become 100% financially independent ASAP
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
1️⃣As a traveler, instead of only checking-in tourist spots, I also wanna explore a place in a slow-paced way by connecting with locals, especially getting to know what have made the present them and their family, community, and the whole country.
2️⃣As a host, whenever my roommates and I are not able to travel because of our work and life, being couchsurfing hosts is the best way to help those who’ve helped us a lot in return. Both my roommate and I hope we can also learn to trust and provide hospitality for someone we do not know.
3️⃣To find both similarities and differences among every individual.
4️⃣To play volleyball in a group in every place!

Music, Movies, and Books
I was the keyboard in my band ensemble back when I was in a university. I do not really listen to music as often as I was, but I still try my best to engage myself in singing and playing instruments.
I watch movies much more than read. At the current moment, I just watch things randomly from time to time as I am pretty busy integrating myself into a new community.
Random favourite movie list: 1️⃣"The Reader" 2️⃣“Olive Kitteridge” 3️⃣ “Mulholland Drive” 4️⃣“Manchester by the Sea” 5️⃣Ang Lee’s “Lust, Caution” 《色 | 戒》 6️⃣Hsiao-hsien HOU's “A City of Sadness” 《悲情城市》
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I backpacked to Japan for three months on my own, which gave me an eye-opening insight into being emotionally independent and non-verbally communicative in a country where I didn’t speak the language.
Teach, Learn, Share
1️⃣A French beginner. Not able to maintain a daily conversation with native French speakers yet. I would definitely appreciate that if you can speak with me in French slowly!
2️⃣Have done Mandarin-English exchanges for years, so on a certain level I know how to teach beginners Mandarin from scratch patiently
3️⃣Would like to share East Asian food recipes with international friends and learn about their cuisines from them
4️⃣Have day care pre-school volunteering experience. I taught them aerobic dances. I do enjoy interacting with kids as they always remind me of something simple but important.
5️⃣Struggling to figure out a way to travel in a relatively eco-friendly way (sailing)
What I Can Share with Hosts
1️⃣Household chores (my strength is cooking)
2️⃣Taiwanese food and recipe (my favourite cuisine: red-braised beef noodle soup)
3️⃣Child care. Interaction with kids
4️⃣The Mandarin Chinese language
5️⃣A Movie chat!( if my language level and energy can keep up with)
