My name is Emily, I'm 22 years old and from Vienna :)
Currently I'm an Human Resources and Communication student, and right now doing my Erasmus in Eindhoven, Netherlands. I used to be in photography and arts school, too, when I was younger and really miss it. Sometimes I think about just going back to doing arts and I'm travelling to get inspired and to build up the courage to really do it. I love to take pictures with my analogue camera and just coming back from a Berlin trip I'm very inspired to be creative again.

Friends would describe me as a very emotional person, that can absorb every situation, every moment so purely. In nature I feel most comfortable, surrounded by trees, in the middle of a meadow and with a good book. I would describe myself as introverted, but when I feel comfortable, I open up and love to be extroverted. Topics I read about daily include psychology, psychotherapy, and generally anything to do with human behavior. I write down my emotions in poems and love to exchange book tips and philosophize about life. I am a big fan of museums, cafes and yoga, like to get up early and greet the morning. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hotels never really excited me, they are an unpersonal place and nothing I can feel comfortable in. On Couchsurfing I have the chance to getting to know people and their unique life stories. Your home says a lot about you and sharing it with me is one of the most intimate and beautiful things. I love to get a glimpse into different lives, like to engage with and be inspired by other people. It helps me on my quest of getting to know myself more each time I get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to new adventures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made my first big trip alone to Costa Rica in 2021. I traveled alone for 2 months with a backpack and had the most wonderful experiences. It was a real journey to coming home to and learning to trust myself.

Soon I'm going to Portugal to live in a community in the mountains and I can't wait.
