About Me

Hey there!

Welcome to my profile, I'm glad you are here! 😁 ☺️

I'm a 23 y.o. half Czech, half Spanish girl. I'm friendly, talkative, cheerful and optimistic person. I'm laughing very often and I always try to find something positive on everything and everyone.

Currently, I'm living in the United Kingdom and I'm basically taking a gap year doing some fun stuff like volunteering or housesitting.

As everybody else on CS, I love traveling, but I definitely prefer slow travel or living abroad for longer periods (the perfect balance is when I'm not sure if it counts as living or traveling), as I can learn more about different cultures, customs and places in greater detail. For me, traveling and living abroad is closely linked to local people and languages.

My dreams destinations are in Oceania, Asia (mostly southeast Asia) and Northern Europe. Top ten places to go are currently Australia, Israel, Island, Norway, Georgia, India, China, Indonesia, Pitcairn Islands, Fiji and New Zealand.

When it comes to my background, my mom is Czech and my dad is from a small town near Barcelona. I grew up in Prague, but last year I got a scholarship to study Chinese in Taipei for six months. I got into Chinese, because after finishing high school I had no idea what I want to do. As I always liked to learn languages, I found a post-high school language program intensively focused on Chinese language here in Prague. After one year, I was sure I don't have enough. After the six months in Taiwan, I got stuck during the lockdown in the Philippines and somehow I ended up in the UK studying International Relations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is life, traveling is my oxygen, traveling is everything. When I travel I feel truly alive, free and happy. I just can't stop smiling and random passerbys start to smile at me too. And I have the best time ever and I also could travel with my friends.

It also means I like to meet new people (and making friends all over the world) and culture and this is the best option ever. Spend time with locals usually means seeing this place differently than if I'm staying in hotel/hostel. Is way more funny, interesting and entertaining.

Interests

Besides being passionate for traveling, hiking, geography, history and different cultures I'm obsessed with learning languages. Currently I'm focusing on Russian and Chinese. And for whatever the reason is I love islands.

I'm a outdoorsy person, I try to spend outdoors as much time as possible. Especially the lockdown and staying at home made me hungry for spending even more time outside. As everyone else here, I'm desperately dying to travel again!

I like to hang out with my friends or family or with animals too! Unfortunately, my lifestyle doesn't allow me to have a furry companion at the moment so if you have one, two or ten, I'll be happy to cuddle and pet him/her.

When it comes to sports, I love dancing, skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, surfing and diving. I haven't got around to it yet, but free diving is something I'm planning to learn and improve in the future!

Music, Movies, and Books

Lately I prefer pop or EDM.

When it comes to books, I'll be honest, I don't read. But if textbooks cout, then consider me as a bookworm.

I used to prefer TV series over movies, as they have the ability to describe storing in greater depth and characters have time to change and evolve. But after countless hours of watching movies and series during the lockdown, I'm sick of it and I'm not in the mood to watch absolutely anything. Otherwise, my fav movies are mostly Disney, I used to watch them in Russian. I discovered most of the TV series during the lockdown. I'm a devoted Elite, Money Heist, How to Get Away with Murder, Euphoria and The End of the Fu***ng World fan. But the best one of them all is Sense8.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Here are my top 3, let's talk about the rest in person!
- solo traveled to central and eastern Bulgaria at the age of 18
- moved to Taipei for six months to study Chinese
- decided to take a gap year in 2021-2022

Teach, Learn, Share

I've traveled to quite a few places so I can share tips and experience with you. I have so many crazy stories including meeting a bear or buffaloes in the wilderness or almost hitchhiking a boat. If you want, I'm able to help you with English, Spanish, Chinese and Czech language (as long as you are not actually more proficient than me).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Friendliness! I can talk to you about anything and I promise, I have good sense of humor too. I love to share stories, have fun, chill and get to know you and your story!
