About Me
Dear CouchHost,
I am new to Couchsurfing. I am an adventurous South African who left everything and everyone behind to live and work in the USA for 2 years in order to learn about American culture and values; experience a better life, find myself and learn from everyone I encounter.
I worked incredibly hard to save up for this, having left my country for the first time at age 21. I had the great privilege of living in the Silicon Valley, California and now near New York city. It has been a dream come true.
I am a very intellectual, curious, active, grateful, organised, open-minded person with no religious affiliations. I believe everyone should treat each other and nature with respect and kindness.
I have no dietary restrictions but I try to eat as healthily as I can afford to. I love trying new things and taking on challenges. I am always pushing my limits to new heights.
I hope we cross cultural divides, learn from each other, connect through the beautiful things that make us all human and part with memorial souvenirs to carry with us for life.
P.S. I am not verified because the $60 is too expensive for me to pay.
With much excitement
Michél
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

What I Can Share with Hosts
Coming from South Africa I have a unique perspective and have lots of stories to share about life back home. I am quick with a smile and have lots of warmth and kindness to give. I can cook and if interested I could bring along some traditional South African goodies, as well as share with you some of my language and culture. I can sing for you my national anthem which consists of 5 of our most spoken languages out of our 11 official languages.
I also hardly ever drink so I will never come stumbling back drunk. I don't smoke either, and I treat other people's homes better than my own.
