About Me

Hey everybody! My name is Sergey, I am 24 years old human being from Saint-Petersburg, Russia, who pursuit few things -- trying to see the as much as I can (my bad vision doesn't help at all, haha), meet new people and snack something really tasty.

Truly think that honesty is the best politeness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I prefer to travel alone because it help to focus on new people and environment. Couchsurfing is the best way to do it and dive even deeper into local culture. Who will show me the best local places, tour guide? Nope, people like that will lead me to touristic streets, that's not the way true traveller should follow!

Music, Movies, and Books

I know a lot about jazz, hip-hop and modern music culture in total. I mean it. I do write music articles to local magazines and work as an music editor. Big fan of Miles Davis, Eugene McDaniels, John Coltrane, A Tribe Called Quest, Kendrick Lamar, Anderson Paak, Radiohead and so on and so on. There is so much of it so i will defenitly save something for private conversation, because that's what I do like to talk about the most.

Books -- Zamyatin, Huxley, Dostoevskiy, Dovlatov

Movies -- 12 Angry Men, Pulp Fiction,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This year I was working at International Jazz Day in Saint-Petersburg and spend 4 days with Herbie Hancock (!!!) and his family. That is were like fairytale for me. Really proud be part of that.

Second one: I've traveled through Russia in 2014-2016 and lived in 8 cities, so I've got a lot of terrific (sometimes terrible, 'cause it is Russia, you never know) stories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook some dishes from Russia and Georgian cuisine (IMHO Georgian is much better).
I can tell A LOT about music and musicians, rocket science and other flying things, basic university physics (it is really interesting, I tell you!)
I play chess, so I can teach you some basic theory you need and show some essential debuts\gambits\defenses. And, of course, I will enjoy to play!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am getting most of the cooking and all the dirty dishes on me, that's for sure.

Countries I’ve Visited

Georgia, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In

Russian Federation
