About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be honest, I was keen on visiting Amsterdam again this summer because I love the city and it's coziness - this time on my own. When checking prizes for accommodations (I was always lucky enough to stay at a friends place or at a place of a friend of friends, etc.) I thought it's crazy how expensive accommodation is in Amsterdam. I remembered an old friend of mine visiting Amsterdam on her own as well, doing couchsurfing plus, she was able to hang out with her host who showed her the city.
So this idea came up to me - why not being a couchsurfer, too? Testing that experience, being able to travel while being on a small budget by being welcome in someone's home and being part of the worldwide Couchsurfing community and therefore, meeting new people of that place I'd like to visit and - especially when traveling alone - maybe even enjoying the city and culture and explore it with the help of hosts and simply having a great time and experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to listen to a potpourri of different songs (electro, electro pop, indie, reggae) or electro sets and love to get inspired with music tips from friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Generally speaking, I travelled with friends and by myself in the past. Especially you guys who also travelled alone know, that in the end, it's pretty easy and lovely making new friends abroad and sharing experiences with each other. It still is an amazing thing to do. So it's easy to not being lonely when traveling alone and having a great time with strangers who really can become new friends - which is why I assume that kind of spirit exists in the Couchsurfing community: being open minded and welcoming to every one who is interested in traveling new places and experience new cultures.
I am confident I'll have great experiences when testing couchsurfing in the future (as for now, I am still new in that community).
