About Me
I am Dóra Duszin, 22 years old, the daughter of a mixed family: my mother is Hungarian and my father is Ukrainian. I was born in Transcarpathia, Ukraine, but we moved to Hungary when I was 5 years old. In my family we speak Ukrainian amongst us, but I wouldn't say I'm fluent, I forgot a lot over the years since I live and study in Hungary, but "I wouldn't be sold on the market" - as they'd say in Ukrainian.
Currently I'm doing my BSc in Computer Engineering at the University of Óbuda in the beautiful capital of Hungary, and I plan to do my master's in Biomedical Engineering in Spain, haven't decided where exactly yet. :) I love Spanish culture, the language amuses me, that's why I started learning it almost 8 years ago, and my passion hasn't fled yet. I can imagine myself living there, but I'm interested in the whole World, I believe a lifetime wouldn't be enough to explore and experience everything, but we've all got one chance - we should make the most out of it.
I am also passionate about my profession, besides the uni, I'm currently working at a smaller company as a Java/Web-developer, I am a Microsoft Student Partner, and I'm working on two (yet) little startups as Lead Software Engineer, one of which is connected to the field of Healthcare, and the other is for empowering, helping and training women in STEM areas.
In addition to my interests in getting severe headaches from random errors in my code that worked yesterday and learning languages (human and machine as well), I have always been in love with all forms of arts, but especially music and literature. I write novels mainly, some of them are longer, some of them are shorter, sometimes they follow a nice story, and sometimes I just write what's on my mind. I've been writing since I could hold a pen, I tried poetry as well, but I seem to have a problem expressing my thoughts briefly. I've always been a music person as well, I played the flute for 4 years when I was little, then tried the guitar for some time (I still pick it up sometimes), but I found my true soul mate in the piano, which I started to learn myself about 10 months ago.
My basic philosophy is that everything can be perceived as an art form: programming - which can be disgusting for a lot of people - is just as much of a tool for determined IT people as a brush for a painter.
