About Me
Hi everyone!
I am new to Couchsurfing, so let me make An introduction first and tell you why I am on Couchsurfing. My name is Joas, 29 and the place where I used to live is Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In September 2017 I decided to make a change in my life. I decided to leave my job at a marketing agency and do something that I really wanted for a long time. Travel. I sold / gave away most of my stuff and ended the lease of my appartement. And then I started my trip into the great unknown in October 2017.
I started my trip in Sri Lanka, then went to India, Nepal, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia and currently I am in the Philipines. If I look back at all those countries, I especially liked the local experiences. Experiencing local food and local customs. I hope that Couchsurfing can provide me with a host who can offer me just that.
From Mid May I am in Japan and I am looking for a social host in Tokyo, Kyoto and / or Osaka. I think it would be amazing if someone wants to teach me more about Japanese culture!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the coolest (literally) things I did was last december in Nepal. In 19 days I completed the full Annapurna Circuit hike in the Himalayas, covering over 225 km through jungle, pebles and snow.
Last januari I also did a cool thing. In Saigon, Vietnam I bought a motorbike and drove it all the way from the south to the north (Hanoi). A trip of more then 2000 km!
