Hello I am Floris, 26 years old, living and working in Tilburg the Netherlands. I have 3 older brothers and uncle of 4 little nephews and nieces. I play icehockey since I was little and played in the Dutch National team U20. I like doing crossfit 3 times a week when I am not traveling.

I am co-owner of our family business ran since 1922 in our hometown. We own a bakery with bread and pastries, 13 shops and 115+ employees. I tend to be always smiling and am an outspoken person which is happy when the people surrounding me are happy. I have friends across the globe and I believe in creating friendships for life.

CURRENT: I am “home” and traveling once or twice a year for one month.

I came to couchsurfing to change my way of traveling around the world. While getting known inside the community I was warm welcomed by all these different people around the world. I’ve traveled and stayed in all different ways e.g. sleeping on floors, couches, luxery hotels, villa’s, appartments, bungalows you name it... just one thing was always the same and that was the genuine welcome and friendliness.

My favourite thing is meeting new people and/while traveling. Being on Couchsurfing since march 2018 I am eager to get settled in this community and host once I’ve got my own place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travel around the world for 6 months alone

I’ve finished my trip around the world. I’ve left home the 5th of January 2018 to visit Vietnam and Cambodia first. When I left home I had planned my trip to visit only countries in South-East Asia but after one week I changed my plan and traveled all over the globe.

Countries I’ve visited on my trip around the world: Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, China, South Korea, Japan, 7 states in the USA, Cuba and at last Mexico.

I love to discuss business ideas, efficiency and share my experience in our bakery. Maybe we can share experiences in any field!

I try to learn continuesly on any topic however I prefer personal, human development the most. Also I try to improve myself being a better person and I try to reflect on myself a lot.

Share stories, happiness and positivity. I could tell you about my experience of a 10 day Vipassana meditation course in which I’ve participated. 10 days of silence and 10 hours of meditation/day. Our minds and bodies are capable of so much more than we are aware of!
