About Me

Hello fellow travelers! We - Ben & Clara - are an adventurous and friendly couple eager to explore the world and connect with diverse cultures. We believe that the best way to truly experience a place is through the eyes of locals, which is why we love Couchsurfing!

We enjoy immersing ourselves in the local lifestyle, trying authentic cuisine, and learning about unique customs. We’re respectful, open-minded, and always excited to make new friends along the way. If you’re looking for enthusiastic and respectful guests who are ready to share stories and create lasting memories, we would be thrilled to meet you and be part of your Couchsurfing journey!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, it all started with a two month trip across Europe, where the initial plan was to stay at AirBnbs - of which I got bored pretty quickly. Therefore, I switched to hostels and also installed Couchsurfing to give it a try, which turned out to be far better than expected!

I made lots of friends through hang outs, been a guest two times and also hosted one time (funny story:). I was happy to discover likeminded people, travellers, humans interested in getting to know other human beings, people of all sort of trades who are open to teach you what they now and ready to learn something new from you too.

Also, I think it's a good way of bonding with people. When you sleep under the same roof, eat dinner together and maybe explore the city/ just spend time with each other, you really get to connect with the other person, which is amazing and, sadly, sometimes rare.

Interests

Chess and basketball were my hobbies as a kid, now I am more into public speaking and entrepreneurship - actually I love these!

I was part of a debating team in my high school for two years and also had the chance to be an MC for a few events in Bucharest. And for the past year I have been a certified junior trainer in a NGO.

I have founded 5 projects by now, including an educational hub within my high school, a chess competition, an event regarding EQ, a personal development event and a charity event.

Music, Movies, and Books

Our favourite books are Les Miserables, Don Quixote, One flew over the cuckoo's nest, The Plague, Little Prince, Love in the time of cholera, Count of Monte-Cristo.

We love jazz (Ella&Louis), classic rock (FleetwoodMac) or pop the most. We also listen to Romanian folk music.

Besides Pixar animated movies, we enjoy the most movies such as: V for Vendetta, Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, The Truman Show, Batman Begins and Casino Royale.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a two month trip across Europe and in each city I visited I asked random strangers on the street if they'd be down to cook a local dish with me, with the aim of learning a new recipe and also making new friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some productivity tricks, some soft skills if you're into it, how to do social media marketing if you need it, or some basics regarding running marathons. Also, as I studied philosophy, I can show you what it means and how anybody can do it (because we usually think it's something only the elites discuss) - plus an introduction in Greek philosophy :)

On the other hand, I'd love to learn more about wine tasting, art, theatre, German language and cocktails. Actually, I'd love to learn about anything you are passionate about! :)

I'm open to share anything I have or know, just ask :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can grab some ingredients and do the cooking - and also pair it with a bottle of wine on me :). If by any chance you need someone to carry heavy furniture and other stuff, or you have a garden which needs some taking care of, let me know, I'd be glad to help with anything I can!

Also, I can search for a good book in your language and get it for you, it would really be a pleasure!
