Overview
About Me
Hola hermanos!! Earlier this year I wrapped up my bridge year, in Ecuador. I traveled with a program called Global Citizen Year. I lived there for about 8 months, in a small town, Cañar, in the Andes. Returning to the US seems very odd... I don't want the adventure to end. So, I feel that couch surfing is a great way to keep the ball rolling. To keep on connecting with people outside my circle in North Carolina (where I was born & raised). Essentially, I want to meet & connect with the global family! Meet people from different places, who have different stories, different customs, different tastes, etc. (: Ah yes, my name is Yesenia; most people call me Yessi. I'm currently 19, and in my free time I like to write, spend time in nature, philosophize, and I'm listening to music almost 24/7. In February of 2019, I'll be an official student at Maharishi University of Management; I'll be studying sustainable living/permaculture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My gap year is coming to an end, but I never want the adventure to end. I want to continue meeting new people, and creating meaningful connections with them.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite songs (currently) are: The message by Dr Dre, Valery by Amy Winehouse, Road to Zion by Damian Marley. I really dig 90's rap/hip hop. Lauryn Hill and Tupac have to be my top two. I also really love J Cole and Xiuhtezcatl. Reggae is my go-to feel good music. I find inspiration in Xiuhtezcatl's music, he's currently my favorite artist.
My favorite movies are: Moana, Dr Strange. Not a movie but I love the 70's show. lol
The most mind blowing book I've read is: 1984 but the most interesting book I've read is: Many lives, many masters/Messages from the masters
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Experienced several ancestral medicine ceremonies in the Andes of Ecuador. And I taught English to students from 1st-12th grade, in Cañar.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Peaceful energy, experiences, deep conversations about human capacity, nature's capacity, love, life in general. We can talk about anything under the sun, and I will some how bring it back to "one of our many purposes on this planet is to unite and spread peace and love" hahah, to say the least.
