About Me
Hi all!
Life has taken me all over this past decade. I was born and raised in Washington state. I first traveled to Ghana, Africa when I was 17 and after that, the rest is history. I’ve now been to around 17 countries and a good amount of the states in the United States. I’ve done a handful of them solo! Life currently has me working as a raft guide in North Carolina. I had never raft guided prior to last summer but man, is it fun!
I studied international business and Arabic in college. I put this to good use when I worked in humanitarian aid and development for a year. I still have a huge passion for that field but for now it’s on pause. Since then, I’ve worked in a ski shop, as a raft guide, a recruiter, and now a first responder.
I have a deep love for seeing the world and being able to experience and understand cultures other than my own. I can’t seem to get enough! I also really love people. I love connecting with good humans and enjoy experiencing life with them, building meaningful friendship, and going on new adventures.
I am a pretty laid back, go with the flow type of person but I also love a good adventure and spontaneous moments!
I love just about anything outdoor recreation, going to various events or live music around town, or going on an excursion somewhere. I also don’t mind a more chill evening going to the local pub for game night (I guess this isn’t always chill lol), staying in making dinner, or just hanging with friends at someone’s house.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There is something really special about staying with a local and somewhat living like a local with them. I love experiencing how people live in different contexts, especially the simple, everyday tasks. Also, locals have great tips for the best spots, restaurants, bars, that aren’t as touristy. Couchsurfing also makes travel more affordable (:

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently reading Wild by Cheryl Strayed. It’s her experience hiking the PCT solo in the 90s. I have really been enjoying it (:
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two years ago I quit my job, built out my car to live in it, and moved across the country without a plan. That has been quite the adventure! I have lots of stories from that.
