About Me

My name is Dia and I currently live in Belgium. I'm in that stage when I still developing my English and learn Dutch (dutch is the main language in this area) and in the meantime I work as a cleaning lady because you have to do something for a living :D

When I moved to Belgium in 2015 it was a shock. I stayed with a friend who helped me but I didn't speak any Dutch and my English was also very very basic. The first few months were pretty hard but the locals were surprisingly kind and helpful. So, for me moving or travelling to a different country and meet new culture, new people is not a frightening thing.

I said to be someone who has a positive mindset, single-minded, funny and helpful... and an unstoppable beast which means according to my friends that I always manage to do what I want to do in/with my life :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't know what else can I say than what everybody else wants here on couchsurfing:
I love to travel even if I didn't have yet that much chance in my life to do it.
I'm interested in different cultures and kind and intelligent people, I want to make memories what I can share with my future kids and grandchildren :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I really love reading but unfortunately lately I didn't have that much chance to spend some quality time with a handsome book. But generally I like:
Cecelia Ahern books, Richard Bach, Cassandra Clare, self-developing books, Vavyan Fable (she's hungarian so don't worry if you never heard about her), Veronica Roth, Elisabeth Gilbert - Eat, pray, love,

I'm not that big movie fan, but I like to watch good films and series with friends. With my housemate we watch together Supernatural, How to train your dragon series on Netflix (some English practise ;) ), Marvel movies, Harry Potter. We mostly watch mainstream movies together such as Martian, Prince of Persia... nothing else comes to my mind now, sorry. But I also like movies which trains your brain a bit, like The Best Offer. Pursuit of Happinness and The Ultimate Gift are some of my favourites as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I know that a lot of people do this nowadays, but for me moving on my own to a whole new country without language knowledge was an amazingly brave and crazy thing to do :D

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Hungarian in that unlikely situation if you are keen on to do so :D
And if it's still not obvious, I can share my sarcastic humour with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My Michelin-starred pancake :D (the Hungarian version), a deep conversation about anything next to a mug of hot chocolate and I can guarantee that you will laugh a lot :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Netherlands, Romania

Countries I’ve Lived In
