Hello! My name is Pamela and I’m from Mexico. I was born in Mexico City and my family moved to Cancun when I was 3.. so I spent many days after school going to the beach (when the city was more relax that today haha). So my happy place is always next to the sea.

After learning french for some years, I decided it was time to go live the french culture and speak to real french people haha, so I moved to France with a Working Holiday Visa. I left my marketing job (which I loved and let me travel around my beautiful country) and moved to south France to work the summer season as a hotel recepcionist looking for the opportunity to speak with as much people as I could. It was hard but I loved it, it was amazing meeting people, listen to their stories and tell them mine.

Working there and thanks to some clients suggestions, I decided I wanted to try the winter season in the Alps. And after looking endlessly for an opportunity, I ended up working as a waitress in a french restaurant at Chamonix Mont Blanc. WOW, I felt in love with that city so much. I spended my days between the mountains, snow, hot wine and raclettes.

So now, that my year abroad is almost over, I’m trying to visit as many places as possible.. because I just love meeting local people, eating local food and walking around for hours.

I love talking and listening to people. But sometimes I love having time for myself too. Walk around the city with some music in my earphones and nothing planned to do :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It’s awesome meeting people when you travel, and even better if they live there. You get to immerse yourself a little in the daily life of the city you are visiting and you can learn a lot from the city too.

I love watching movies and TV series. I can watch from Ru Paul’s Drag Race to Chernobyl or Stranger Things. I love all movie genres and I love that people recommend me their favorite one.
