About Me

my name is Inês and I live quite close to Lisbon. I also went on Erasmus to Warsaw recently

even though my field of studies is Political Science and International Relations, I'm considering becoming a journalist, because I'm permanently curious about what's going on in the world and writing is something I've been doing ever since I was a little kid - either intimate reflections, poems or activism messages. I can't think of a better career to explore my multiple interests while voicing my opinions and advocating for my ideals

what else? I spend all of my money in concerts and festivals and end up not having any clothes to wear, I'm always down for Bob's Burgers and Bojack Horseman's marathons and I feed on terrible jokes

last but not least, I'm tidy and respectful. I promise not to make a mess nor to invade your personal space if you offer me shelter

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always loved to travel, but my budget is usually quite short, so I need to spend it really wisely. being able to sleep at someone's couch instead of booking a hostel would be very helpful!! it would also allow me to actually get in touch with locals and to hear about their personal impressions of the city and, hence, give me a much more authentic experience

Music, Movies, and Books

my favourite music genre is probably indie or alternative rock, but I also love jazz and, lately, I've been obsessed about Bossa Nova. it's hard to pick a favourite book, but probably Amor em tempos de cólera by Gabriel García Marquez, Cartas a Sandra by Vergílio Ferreira or Ensaio sobre a cegueira by José Saramago. I also have too many favourite movies, but I can definitely mention Hayao Miyazaki, Xavier Dolan and Jean-Luc Godard

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

oh my god, these questions are always existencial crisis-inducing. yes, I also ask myself what I've accomplished in 20 years from time to time! well, I volunteered in a primary school last semester and that was pretty rewarding and heartwarming. I had to help little kids reading. that amazing project left me looking forward to engage in new volunteering activities

Teach, Learn, Share

we can learn a few words or sentences in each other's languages, talk about our contries' history, cultural habits, political situation and have insightful debates on feminism, racism, humankind's destiny, anything. it would also be fun to go to flea markets, to prepare picnics at parks or to just plan movie nights together. if you're busy or simply not willing to, I don't mind walking around by myself, though

What I Can Share with Hosts

emotional trauma, bad puns and dank memes? ok, talking seriously, I'd be thrilled to share lovely evenings of singing and drinking wine in Lisbon's most beautiful sightseeing spots
