About Me

*about us
"let's just take our backpacks and go somewhere.."
"why not going by bike?"
"by bike?! never! not with me!"
--- 3 months later ---
bikes are ready to go. our bags heavier than they should be. plans and maps: somewhere below tent and pullovers and cookingpots. but at least they exist. and even more ideas between our ears.

us? that's anni and cara, 19 and 21 years old, just having finished highschool and currently planning to go on a tour by bike with our tent througout eastern europe. on june 07 our train leaves in our hometown (in the area of frankfurt, germany) and brings all five of us (anni (human), cara (human), bilbao (bike), krüüml (bike) and jackie (the tent)) to  ljubljana where we are about to start. where we want to go? well, our plan says Zagreb, Budapest, Bratislava, Krakow, Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn and Helsinki are the main destinations, but who knows? we have two months time to go where we want. let's see how far our muscles bring us and where we end up..

UPDATE: right now we are on tour for 5 weeks and there are 3 more weeks to go. well, plans are made to be changed.. we skipped some parts, shortened our route and are right now enjoying all this travelling with all its highs and lows to the fullest! we learned lots along the way and met awesome people who inspired us.. for example one amazing woman (who cycled to new zealand in 7 years) to take a slower pace. now we make less kilometres per day, even staying for a day or two and are able to get the real feeling of the country we are travelling through. oh all the memories we made.... yes. we haven't been to slovakia, yes we decided not to go to helsinki, even leaving out whole estonia, but cycling lithuania and latvia has been amazing. and we will definitely come back for all the things we didn't do. now our plan says: enyoing the coastline from latvia and lithuania until finally taking the ferry back to germany in klaipeda.
for us cycling is a great way to travel because of it's mixture.. cities as well as pure nature, camping as well as hostels or couchsurfing, getting to know people as well as being on our own somewhere into the wild and last but not least because of its speed- neither to slow nor to fast.....

what we usually do when we're not on a biketour: we drink coffee, look for a nice universitiy to go to, think about utopian futures, cook porridge, read, play football or go running or do freelatics, ..

first of all: harry potter, secondly: hallo mister gott, hier spricht anna, no. 3: fahrenheit 451

for movies.. our favourite one is definitely cloud atlas!

music? should be everywhere.. lucid dreams by tribe society, crossroads/bridges/subcity by tracy chapman, fast cars/when we were beautiful by bon jovi, linkin park, walking the wire/it's time by imagine dragons.. and do you know space talk by the native architects?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

anni: it's just about to start.. but in general it's all the small memories we will always remember (like.. sitting around a campfire maybe with a guitar, watching the stars, listening to a favourite song as loud as possible, eating pizza at a viewpoint during sunset, getting super excited when planning trips like this one, riding my bike with everything i need to survive and just feel free, enjoying the company of friends, strangers and other lost souls.... and so much more!..... well, simply everything that makes me feel alive!

cara: cycling from our hometown to paris and backpacking in morocco

What I Can Share with Hosts

getting up early and cooking a wonderful porrigde for breakfast.. something else? hm, probably if you're also interested in the topic we might end up discussing society and imagining utopian futures..
