About Me

I am currently a philosophy student (as I´ve said before in the education section) and I think it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Being surrounded by people who share my passion for arts, history and politics is really encouraging. I love having long talks with my friends about the differents schools of thought and I would love to do the same with new people! . Apart from that I consider myself quite proactive, I am eager to meet new people, new experiences and new ways of understanding life. I am planning to travel each summer with a bunch of friends who are also passionate about philosophy, so this trip is probably going to be amazing :)

By the way I am vegeterian

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am fed up with the way people nowadays travel. Travelling for them is just having a few selfies in the most iconic monuments of the city where all the tourists gather and they collapse entire city centers. I refuse to be like that. I want to get out of the "confort zone" which represent the mainstream way of holidays. If my main goal were to take a few photos I would prefer to stay at home cos I can get the same photos in a better quality.

When going abroad I want to be immersed by: the city, the environment, the culture, the smiles of its citizens, their stories, their sorrows, their own melody of understanding the world from their geographical perspective, to sum up to see the world from their eyes.

I want to come back as a different new person as a new individual, I want to grow as I travel "to achieve a higher self" as Sartre said.

Music, Movies, and Books

I cannot choose a specific genre of music, but if I have to choose I would tend to lean on rap as well as african american rhythm such as Billie Holiday, Thelonious Monk and all the variety of ska music.

When I am blue I use ska music ( different styles like Cuban, Africa or British) to cheer me up! If you haven't had the chance to listen "Ondatropica-Cumbia espacial" I strongly recommend you to do so :)

I also had a weird part of my teen years when I listened to Metallica, Black Sabbath and other kind of metallic music, unfortunately that times are far ago. Also I enjoy Bob Dylan music because it reminds me a perfect summer day on my village with all my family and the break-taking nature of my region.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to play the piano, so if you have one I can give you a small concert, although I don´t know the "Overture from Giovanni" by Mozart by heart. But I know some erik satie songs!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can provide you with a fruitful conversation about philosophers, philosophy, politics and arts!

As you already guessed I love to talk but I am a good listener so don´t worry.

I can teach you some useful phrases in Spanish, not the most frecuent one like "beer" and "how you doing".

On my region we have a special dance which traces back to 200 years ago, I can show you how to dance the Asturian way! (Asturias is the region where I live btw)
