I have been an avid enthusiast of optimistically enjoying life. I have always been happiest outdoors among the trees. Mountains, forests, swamps and marshlands lakes, Rivers, streams, creeks and oceans are home for me. I have been on many roadtrips across the US. My 1st was from Michigan to key West Florida when I was 15 years old when the travel bug was born! Then to Colorado when I was 16 and South Padre island in 95. Since then I have gone Southwest to the Grand canyon, San Diego, Glacier national Park, west through the Canadian Rockies, British Columbia, Victoria island Vancouver, the northern coasts of Washington, to Mount Olympia, The coastal tropical rainforests of Oregon and to the Northern California redwoods, Creator lake, Yellowstone Grand Tetons, The Big horns in Wyoming, Devil's tower and Mount Rushmore. All along the Gulf coast of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. I have also explored many places in my home state of Michigan including the upper peninsula.

My husband and I are taking only what we can carry and walking away from life as we've been living it. We feel that the changes we have made in our lifestyle alone are not enough and that we need to become more active.
We want to be a part of the network of people who are trying to protect water, trees and air. We are seeking to volunteer in intentional communities, permaculture eco villages and on organic farms where we can experience and learn hands on, possibly earning some meals and or places to camp for the night.
We want to join the supporters at pipeline protest camps and related environmental causes Rally's across the US.

I love to dance I enjoy upbeat music everything from soul train, disco, early rap from the break dance craze I enjoy blues, fusion jazz, r&b & soul. Allman Brothers, the Grateful Dead, Phish, Ozric Tentacles, Gong, Pink Floyd. Hard Rock, Classic Rock and some heavy metal like Pantera, Anthrax, Megadeath, Soul Fly, Metallica, Suicidal tendencies. Boston, The guess who, The Beatles, Peter Frampton, Eric Clapton, Pearl Jam Limp Bizkit, Beastie boys, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones. Nine inch nails, Tracy Bonham, Die Antword, Lord's of acid, Peaches, Nirvana, Tool, Korn, Primus, Oysterhead, so many newer bands too. There are so many more!!

For me it started with saving trees learning about Ozone depletion. Then the 5 gyres. Fracking. Factory farm run off, pesticides, insecticides & herbicides. GMOs. EMFs. Microwaves. Bleached flour and sugar. BPA & chemical toxicity levels, human impacts and "safe" allowable levels. Atmospheric carbon levels. Holes in the magnetosphere. Soil depletion. Neglected parasites and resistant bacterias and fungals. Misfit vegetables, food waste. Nuclear waste. eWaste. Industrial chemical waste disposal permits. Plastic in the food chain. Recycling is not enough. Katrina. Deepwater horizon oil spill. Tap water on fire. Toxic Algae blooms, 405 Dead zones ww & coral reefs dying. Floridated tap water, still. Critical infrastructure and eminent domain.
We started by quitting paper towels, changed to single ply tp, using reusable cups BPA free containers. Using natural, chemical free cleaners. I started making my own deodorant and toothpaste, bamboo toothbrush. I stopped painting my nails and using hair dye. Replaced plastic containers with glass. Skipping the straw, not using plastic silverware, I carry my own. Sustainable grocery bags. Eating out less. Less prepackaged foods. More fresh organic and local responsibly grown foods when we could. Turning off the tap to brush and while washing dishes, smaller, thinner bath towels and reduced our laundry weight and amounts.
Using energy efficient light bulbs and less lights. I signed petitions, called my governor, senator, congressman offices. Then I found out my personal overshoot day. I measured my ecological footprint.
