Hi I’m Jen, 1999, I live in Cologne, Germany and study Global Business & Economics.
Now to the fun stuff - I love traveling, as we all do on this app right? and hope to travel to every country in the world :)
I discovered CS in 2018 and have had amazing experiences with CS since and held friendships all over the world which I’m very grateful for!

In 2018 after finishing my Abitur a year prior, starting and then quitting my first studies and working day and night for over 6 months I saved up enough money and went backpacking on my own at 18. My route: Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Panama, Brazil, over to the U.S, Los Angeles, San Diego, hopping over to Hawaii - O’ahu, Maui, Big Island, Kauai, back to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, over to Canada - Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and back home to Germany. :) Was a hell of a Trip!

I’ve traveled/been backpacking since with friends and family for e.g. to Portugal, a roadtrip to Romania through Austria and Hungary, to Morocco, Malta, Czech Republic and so on… :) making endless memories.

I love the feeling of freedom when traveling, learning and growing, experiencing new cultures, places and adventures and also escaping our little bubbles we live in and really understanding what this world has to offer.

Don’t know what else to say about myself😅

I like cooking, dancing, festivals and raves.
I’d say I’m pretty easy going, sometimes to impulsive but always thoughtful. I treat everyone with kindness and respect if they treat me equally. I’m vegan/vegetarian.
Feminist, strong advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, environmentalist, I support the BLM movement and Anti Asian Hate movement.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I was backpacking the Caribbean, South America, the U.S. and Canada.
Whilst I was in Jamaica I heard about Couchsurfing for the first time. People told me it’s the best way to experience the real culture of every place and really get to know the locals and make new friends. I’ve already tried it in Costa Rica, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Canada, 4 Islands of Hawaii, Budapest, Romania and Portugal and it’s been amazing.
I love staying in hostels from time to time depending on the location and the travel but I keep on trying to use Couchsurfing more often because I’ve had so many amazing experiences.

Too many….

• Stairway to heaven hike, jumping into the back of a moving van and skydiving in O‘ahu
• CS my way through 4 Islands of Hawaii and discovering every Islands beauty
• Kayaking out into the ocean at night to go snorkeling with manta rays
• Free snorkeling in the deep ocean with a huge school of wild dolphins on Big Island Hawaii
• Seeing a shark under me whilst snorkeling at the Na Pali Coast on Kauai, Hawaii
• Experiencing red and green sand beaches
• Driving out to the Na Pali Coast for hours on a jet ski for the sunset and having the worst skid burns on my ass, worth it tho
• Going camping at the beach with a host on Big Island
• Costa Rica’s deserted Marino Ballens national park during rainy season in all its powerful glory
• Volunteering at this kind and welcoming hostel in Panama
• Arriving in Portland at night and my CS ghosting me and this sweet girl in a gym where I was charging my phone just taking me in and me spending my time in Portland with her and her flatmates
• Roadtrip to Romania
