Overview
About Me
About me... Well, I'm a nice, lay-back Dutch guy with an interest of being amongst people. The more people around me, the better I feel. Usually. I also love to be alone and outside after hectic days and weeks. I have lots of acquaintances in my home country, Holland, and some abroad, but only a few of those people I consider real friends. Cooking for other people is something I really like a lot and then when I'm by myself I see cooking as a futile exercise, because there is nobody to enjoy it but me. I'm kinda good at cooking and I enjoy it, but a real chef would still smile at my efforts, haha. I'm social and intelligent, yet I can be a bit shy, depending on the situation. In most cases I'm not shy at all :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I wanna broaden my horizons. Also my relationship of two years with my Czech girlfriend recently ended and I would love to be just out and away, meet new people and feel good.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love a lot of music. From The Beatles to Elbow and from Bach to Prokofieff, it is hard to choose. Recently I discovered Allah-Las through a friend of mine and I really love their relaxed, yet energetic vibe. There is two kinds of music: good music and bad music. Call it a cliché, it is the truth. :D
I'm a big fan of some of Stanley Kubrick's work, talking about movies. Full Metal Jacket is of course a masterpiece. But there are many more masterpieces in this world, new and old. My movie taste is as eclectic as my music taste.
Concerning books: I'm not a big reader. Yet some books really took my breath away. Like "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Záfon.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Eating a beautifully tasting pasta, prepared with a whole Madame Jeanette pepper and not dying. We were crying while eating that.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a lot about linguistics and grammar and Dutch, if you would like. I also picked up some tricks along the way, concerning cooking skills. Enough to show.
I would like to learn the different ways people think and the different ways people approach the world. There are soooo many views to this world, that I could never imagine myself. Share them, people!
