About Me
Hi! :) I'm a French-American social entrepreneur in my thirties, passionate about the climate and sustainability, and I love to meet new people all around the world. My traveling philosophy is to live the place, rather than visit it. :) Very open, sociable, curious, I also like to have calmer moments where I enjoy some meditation and peaceful nature.
I'm traveling (while working) for a 1-year journey around the world - which I nickname my "climate worldtour" - and seeking to meet on my way local people and sustainability actors, in particular scalable solutions, whether ocean, land, renewable energy, sustainable consumption... you name it, that others could learn from and replicate - instead of reinventing the wheel.
Im traveling as much as possible in a sustainable, zero waste way, staying at people's places to best learn how it's like to live locally. That's way I'm so happy that couchsurfing exists! Eventhough I'm new to it, I've doing collaborative things like carsharing, so it's completely in my mindset and I'm excited to live these new experiences!
You can find out more about my trip on my blog: joannearoundtheworld.wordpress.com.
I would love to meet individuals and organizations that are passionate about finding solutions to climate change, or passionate about life in general!
About my entrepreneur side, I founded 3 years ago a climate enterprise called OpenTeam (www.openteam.co), which helps social and environmental projects to grow in a collaborative, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing way. We also developed an online matchmaking platform that connects climate stakeholders worldwide based on their needs and resources, in open-data & open-source. You can checkout our beta version here: platform.openteam.co and its regeneration version here: Regeneration Hub. I'm also currently working on an ocean restoration project called Marine Permaculture TM within the Climate Foundation (climatefoundation.org).
Before that I worked for 7 years in the airline industry, so this has been a huge shift in life when I did my consciousness awakening at age 30.
Looking forward to meeting you and learning about your local life and passions!
