About Me

I’m a Brazilian guy, History teacher, seeking to travel around and to meet nice people. If you like to chat, have a couple of beers and share your experiences, we're gonna have a nice time.
I’ve recently discovered couch surfing and I’m really anxious to receive travelers from all over the world in my home and show them the beauties of Rio de Janeiro.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is the best way of knowing different people and cultures, and that’s the richest thing we’re able to learn. That’s not about taking pictures and knowing tourist attractions, that’s about making connections, making friends and discovering how life can be diverse. I can think of no other way the world can be a better place. As Jonathan Larson wrote, “the opposite of war isn’t peace, it’s creation!”. Let’s make of our lives a piece of art.

Music, Movies, and Books

Let's make a small pot-pourri, because I'm really eclectic.

Books: Grande Sertão Veredas (Guimarães Rosa), O Filho de Mil Homens (Valter Hugo Mãe), Cien Años de Soledad (Gabriel García Márquez), Canto General (Pablo Neruda).

Music: Pescado Rabioso, Spinetta, Mutantes, Secos e Molhados, Milton Nascimento, Clara Nunes.

Movies: Dogville, Dersu Uzala, Machuca, Dead Poets Society.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When you travel a lot, it’s easy to find incredible things in the places you’re knowing, but perhaps not so easy to find wonderment where you live in. But that’s exactly what I feel every year, during the Carnival of Rio de Janeiro. For me, it’s almost a religious experience. Costumes and revelry are guaranteed.

Teach, Learn, Share

Knowing people is the best way to discover a new world. I can teach some Portuguese and make some Brazilian food (if we find some black beans, I’d love to introduce foreigners to the feijoada).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Wine, beer, good stories, good moments, different dishes.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Cuba, France, Mexico, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In
