Hi! We are Eva and Néstor, a couple from Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain). We love traveling, in 2019 we traveled through Latin America for 14 months and now we have been discovering South East Asia since January 2023. We absolutely love what we have experienced in this continent so far and now would love to expand our borders and travel to the rest of Asia! In this last journey, we have visited: Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and we are currently in Malaysia and heading to the Philippines soon!

About us: Eva is a Lawyer, Yoga teacher, feminist, specializing herself in Human Rights and Gender Equality. Néstor is an Art Director, Illustrator and Animator, he is passionate about Game Design and soon will start a master's degree in this topic in Finland. We have been together for the past 11 years, living in Gran Canaria, Barcelona, Latin America and Finland. We love meeting new people from around the world and different cultures. We also love spending time in nature, camping, and hiking, since both of us are Scouts. We are extrovert people and easy-going too :)

We would also like to mention that we are respectful people, we are so humbled by the people that host us worldwide that we always like to leave everything better than how we found it! We are also conscious of people's time limitations and responsibilities and we will try to adapt perfectly well to our hosts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have had some magnificent experiences in CS on our past trips and until now we haven't had the opportunity to connect with CouchSurfers in Asia, because we have been working remotely and what we love the most about CS is spending time with locals. On our trip to Japan, we won't be working, so we want to make the most out of this trip and get to know Japanese culture through their people.

In addition, we are passionate about learning about different ways of living and meeting people from around the globe. We also love cooking and exchanging and learning traditional recipes. Furthermore, talking and sharing are things that we particularly like. But the thing we like the most is knowing new places through the eyes of a local host :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We left our full-time jobs in Gran Canaria, to travel around Latin America for 14 months and recently got our Scuba Open Water Diving license in Bali :)
