About Me
Hey there Couchsurfers,
I am Anna. At the moment I am studying medicine in Germany.
Traveling is one of my greatest passions. Escaping form daily life and experiencing the beautiful witness and great variety of our world. Meeting new inspiring people, being on my own, getting to know different cultures and habits.
I am a very active person who likes to do a lot of sport. Especially swimming and riding my bike. On the other hand I love discovering cultural heritage and beautiful nature.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
CS is in my opinion the best way to travel. Your are not only meeting openminded and inspiring people, your also experience real traveling. I really want to get to know the people of each country I'm traveling. Thus I experience it's great cultural variety and individuality . Looking under the touristic surface, that's what I want to experience during my journeys.
Music, Movies, and Books
My big interest besides sports and studying is reading books. I prefer reading old-time classics, than modern literature. Russian writers like Tolstoi, Dostojevski, Puschkin and Gogol belong to my most favorite writers. I do also like to read German authors such as Franz Kafka, Stefan Zweig, Georg Büchner. But there are so many more great authors I admire. Sartre, Camus, Böll, Hesse, Mann, Dürrenmatt, Müsil, Remarque.
If you are interested into history I really recommend you the drama "Dantons Tod" from Georg Büchner.
Riding my bike I mostly listen to classic music like Bach, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Händel, Tchaikovsky. Beethovens 9th symphony is the best way to relax after a long day. But I also like dancing to music of the 60's and 80's.
Like my taste in books I do prefer watching old movies. One of my favorite is a Japanese film called rashomon. But I am always looking for new film I can discover and films being recommend to me.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am more plaining to do amazing things in the future, than I have experienced so far. Thats why I am really looking forward to future adventures.
This September I want to travel through Russia with the trans-sibiran railway. Starting from St. Petersburg and ending in Vladivostok. I think that is going to be a unique experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I‘m interested in learning new things about culture, diffent ways of living and meeting inspiring people.
I'm always up for long discussion and interested in different point of views.
Because I am really interested in history I have a good knowledge of european, especially german history.
When it comes to food I can teach you who to make handmade south-german food like "Kässpätzle" and "Maultaschen". I prefer baking instead of cooking so be ready for some good cake.
Being a very sportiv person I am always ready to go swimming or a long ride on the bike.
