About Me

Hey! My name is Anastasya. I am 21.
I was born in Moscow, Russia and started to travel independently from parents when I turned into my 18. I have been teaching basic English for pre-school kids in Poland kindergarde. It was challenging and unforgettable experience. I fell in love in Warsaw and Krakow (2 major Polish cities). On a weekend I had a chance to visit Germany, particularly Berlin, but just recently figure out how massive mutial history between our nations (building and fall of a Berlin wall).

Right now I am studying 1 year abroad in US, trying new culture and life style. I have visited Wisconsin, Minnesota, Massachusetts and NYC so far. I have a host family here in Wisconsin and they accustomed me with main American celebrations as Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas in Fall semester.

My major is Marketing but I am into some other fields like finance, economics, urban studies. I am still looking for my life pass by tasting life 😜 I have been working as freelancer in Digital agency in the role of SMM-manager creating content for brands in social media and making PR for some companies.
Recently I started to learn personal finance and investments that is really cool for overall understanding how the world works.

I like some kind of uncertainty and adrennaline that challenges you. I have hitchhiked twice in South Caucasus and Karelia, both in Russia. It was unforgettable experience, I would repeat it again.

I am constantly looking for opportunities to travel, I do not like to stay in one place for a long time. I like to see new places, especially architecture, to take photos (I recently bought a film camera). So far, there are not so many countries on my account, but I also love domestic tourism in Russia.

BTW: fully vaccinated with 2 doses of Phizer and 2 doses of Sputnik V.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that everyone has a special story that needs to be accidentally told to a stranger.

I have been volunteering on international programs both in Russia and abroad and I felt that communication with local people enabling you to discover more rather than taking gides or staying in hotels.

I would love to offer some rocommedations to those who wish to travel in Russia and join you when I have a chance. Hope to host people in the future when I move in my personal apartment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been in Istanbul for the New Year holidays and fell in love with the muezzin's songs.

I was an organiser of national forum for young people in Tech field in Russia. It was spring 2020 and we had to switch format to online in a couple weeks because of the pandemic.

I have been kayaking for 3 days under burning sun and living in a hiking camp.

I had a terrible 10-hours layout in Turkey airport when flew back home during winter break.

I found my bf on Tinder lol

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to talk about politics, economics (and mix of these two). I know how to cook Russian national dishes and would love to treat you. I teach you kayaking or ice-skating. I can help you wiyj learning Russian. I would love to talk about entrepreneurship and business opportunities (I dream about setting up my own company in next couple years).

What I Can Share with Hosts

A story about my travels, a representation of Russian culture throughout national dishes or diving into scope of stereotypes. A good advice what to visit in Russia and hanhout together when I am in town.
