Overview
About Me
Currently in Cairo for work reasons, staying until end of November 2023.
----
I am mechanical engineer in the field of textile machines and cotton processing. I love to explore this hidden champion field. Textiles are everywhere and we most of the time don't even think about it. So km always open to discuss those topics.
But of course, I am here because I love to take the opportunity of travelling around. Either for business reasons or private.
My goal is to always find the hidden local spots behind the touristic scenes. So let's head for this together. :)
I think if everybody takes time and care of the people next to you, we can make world a better place.
You don't need money to explore the world and meet great people, you just need the right view of the world.
So I spend a lot of my free time for the volunteer fire department in my home town, bcs. I really like every field of the work you can do there and especially to just use all these technical tools to prevent environment or health of more harm. I also play the french horn 📯 in an Orchestra and like to go out with my friends for every kind nice evening. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Did some great experiences while getting hosted in the baltics, hang out with amazing people all over the world and want to explore the city from the best of it's sides with some locals who really know what they talk about instead of these comercial traveller sides.
Interests
I'm an passionate volunteer fire fighter and love the feeling of trust in everybody in our team. I'm also excited about playing in my orchestra and give some concerts at one of the biggest events in Aachen, like our Christmas market opening every year and playing at a christmas singing in our soccer stadium with 20.000 people watching last time. :)
And also our own annual concert, where we present everything from classics over opera or musical, up to modern movie music. Even some marching music but this is not my favourite bcs. It's quite boring for french horn. 🙈
I also frequently donor blood and thrombocytes for crash victims who need it then. I think it's kind of pay back that I'm glad for my personal health. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love 90's music. But I enjoy everything exept of this heavy Punk, Techno, Metal stuff and similars. :D
But even if there is a fun company around, I'm able to accept this but will socialize instead of dancing. :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Blueberry harvesting in Canada
Doing a roadtrip with 4500 km through Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, saw wonderful places and met amazing people all around.
Quench a fire in a burning caravan (as a volunteer fire fighter).
Live and work in China for half a year.
Teach, Learn, Share
In Germany we don't have this big food culture but I can share my travel stories as well as mechanical and textile knowledge. :) I'm always open for good stories and talks, even if it gets late for this reason.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can repair some stuff, if you have the right tools for me (did it twice so far within getting hosted :D). :)
