About Me
Hello!
My name is Sabine and I am a 24 year old biology student (and teacher) from Latvia. I play latvian traditional instrument kokle, dance, write poetry, meditate and enjoy travelling and meeting new people. Life is a wonderful journey when there are souls to share it with!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
People's stories are mesmerising and worth remembering! I love making friends in other countries and exchanging kindness, inspiration, recipes and life stories!
Interests
I've played latvian traditional instrument kokle (pronounced "kuuakle") for around 15 years and Morics has spent the same amount of time in traditional dance. Currently I'm finishing my masters degree in Biology at University of Latvia. I have taken on a couple of new hobbies during the last 5 years like sailing, playing the mandolin, dancing ballroom and traditional dance and meditation. I highly value a good conversation about life, love, spirit and kindness, tradition, history, geography, philosophy and wonder! :)
I think every person can share something wonderful with the world and that's what I am here to learn! I love seeing what makes people's hearts sing with joy and inspiration!

Music, Movies, and Books
That's a conversation when we get there. I enjoy everything that has a touch of heart - if it's something someone loves, there is probably a good reason!
I appreciate a wide range of genres. Mostly listening to rock, classical, folk, oldies.
My favourite book is a latvian author's book about pies that are pirates. They fight with swords and sail the seas. And are filled with meat and onions. Their captain becomes a glazed fiery poppy roll girl (when the old captain resigns because originally they planned to sell the girl in the slave market but he couldn't) and she grows from a dreamy "cake" into a revered pirate captain with flawless chocolate locks. :D
The author has taught me more about cold and hot weapons, traditional foods and geography than any school or wikipedia.
Other than that Jane Austen, Neil Gaiman and Douglas Adams are very witty and have great english to learn from!
Movies - too much to list here, so let's talk about it. :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailing across the North sea on s/y Spaniel in The Tall Ships Races 2018
Teach, Learn, Share
Some things about health and biology, Latvian traditions, music, dance, cooking, meditation and spirituality. And the scientifically correct way to hug (if the situation calls for it).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm always polite and I respect house rules. I also don't mind cooking dinner or washing the dishes and if you are looking for someone to exchange letters with, I am up to it! My strongest side is definitely conversation.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Turkey
