About Me

Grüße,

I'm one of these guys that rushed from school to university and immediately ended up in a regular 9 am to 6 pm office job, five days a week for the next 99 years. I think that's the second most boring lifestyle right after watching my mother's PC installing the same three Windows updates again and again everytime she turns her shitty laptop on.

Many of my friends do better and therefore travel a lot to different places. Everyone keeps telling me this is some cool shit I have to try (I must say their Instagram stories do look pretty sick) and that's why I've decided to leave Germany from time to time.

I'm often completely overwhelmed by all the impressions when travelling but I enjoy those nice memories that you bring home after a trip. I'm not a big fan of taking loads of photos and hour-long videos of everything that I see. I tried that but noticed that you actually miss the moment and really can't reconstruct it at home.

BAD NEWS: I'm allergic to cats, dogs and many other hairy creatures. If you've got at least one of them in your house, please consider to NOT offer me a couch. Except you are a sadist. Then please do whatever fulfills you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is some sort of experiment to me. I heard you meet new people and make a lot of new friends, especially when you travel alone. At least you automatically get to know someone you potentially can spend time with on different activities. I'm about to find out if that's true. And if I can take it or if I end up crying because my inner introvert spontanously decided to take control.

Also I'd rather spend more money on food and other things than on accommodation. Talking about food – yes I like to cook. I wouldn't say I'm good at it but man's gotta eat. If you teach me some tasty recipes of regional dishes, chances are high that we become good friends.

Other benefits of couchsurfing that I can imagine:
- meeting people that can give me a (sightseeing) tour through their town or at least recommend me some nice places to go to
- having someone to go party with. My taste in music is a bit special, but fuck that – I'm not at home, I can be anyone, I can do anything*.
- home parties are also very cool
- if you rather like to stay at home and turn on some relaxing music and have deep talks about aliens and space and how long it will take us to reach the next exoplanet – yeah, why not. I like that shit, too.
- do you have card games or board games or an Xbox? Count me in.
- i work out more or less regularly. I tend to lose that habit when I travel. If you like sports we can be training partners.

Oh and I really would like to offer you a couch at my home BUT my flatmate's gonna kill me and sell my body parts if I bring up a crazy idea like becoming a CS host. Nevertheless feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Leipzig, ja?

*Except if I have to go to jail for it. Please no.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've got some friends at home (one of the reasons that keep me staying in Leipzig and not quit my job to go out and see the world every day of the year). We're into electronic bass music, especially everything with broken beats and super especially Dubstep as well as Drum & Bass. So much into it that we started to DJ and organize events. Nothing big, just the local scene. As a listener I also enjoy other genres but this project keeps me busy after work.

What's very important to me regarding music: it's not only about the music but also about the sound. If it's good music but it sounds shit then something inside me is dying. It's very likely that you catch me wearing some headphones when I leave the house.

I like films about space. Do you love Interstellar? Then I love you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 6 or 7 years old I made a driver's license at Legoland in Germany. Does that count?

Teach, Learn, Share

Some people say I'm good at explaining things.

I'd say I'm open to new thoughts and even contrary beliefs if you can support your arguments with reasons. But I don't like to talk about things that I don't know much about.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can get some ingredients and cook something for you. Preferably WITH you because socializing and stuff.

When I'm out to discover the city I invite you to join me. It's better to have company.

When we're at your home we can sit down, have a drink and tell each other about our mindset, our experiences and why the egg definitely came before the chicken.
Since I have just started traveling last year I only have few stories to tell. Some boring ones, some interesting ones, some funny ones, some super duper adventurous ones like that one when we almost died on a Slovenian highway on our way to a festival. Or that one when we almost died on a Czech road on our way back from another festival. Sometimes I lie in my bed, being amused and scared at the same time about these experiences. Oof.

And I bring a card game called Snollygoster. It's fun as hell so invite your friends. The more players participate the more fun we have.

I always carry 3 USB sticks with me, they are full of music. Let's fuhuhucking party!
