Overview
About Me
Im a 20 years old student, currently staying in Singapore as an exchange student, but I am from Madrid Spain.
- Studies:
I am studying "Biomedical Engineering" in University Carlos III of Madrid. I have to say it is a degree I truly enjoy, it combines a lot of mathematics and physics (two things where I stand out) and other engineering tools to solve problems in the medical and biological world. I find this fascinating and I believe it has a lot of potential for further development and the satisfying reward of helping those who need it the most.
- Something I do:
One of my biggest passions is scouting. I belong to a scout group called "291 Alfa Centauro" in Alcalá de Henares. Scouting has taught me a lot of useful things such as teamwork, responsibility, leadership, empathy or assertiveness.
- Social help:
This summer I went on a fifteen-day voluntary in Boudenib, in Morocco, with my scout friends. Overall it is an experience I highly recommend because I found a lot of learning in working with kids under poverty circumstances and meeting different families from this culture.
- My year in Canada:
I received an scholarship 4 years ago to live one year in Campbell River, Vancouver island, Canada. I am grateful of living there with a lovely host family. I think this is where my passion for travelling begun. I learnt a lot about the Canadian culture and about their educational system. This experience has not only helped me with my English but also has showed how enriching can travelling and meeting different people be.
- My life right now:
I am coursing my third year of university in the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. I can say this will be also a great experience because I have the confidence to fully submerge in the culture and to explore as much as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have received very positive reviews about this website and heard a lot of good stories from CS.
I intend to travel a lot this year, specially around Singapore since I will be studying here for 10 months. Hopefully it can be a good tool for me to know new people, learn as much as I can from them and hopefully be able to share something about me as well :)
I believe that the most appealing part of CSing is what we can offer to each other, the kindness of people behind this website and the experiences we can create with each other ^^

Music, Movies, and Books
- Music:
I listen a lot of Spanish music, specially a style of songs called "rumbas". And if I get the chance to grab a guitar, I really like playing and singing with other people.
- Movies:
Since I was little I developed a special liking for Ghibli's movies (being my favourite the Howl's moving castle). In addition, I really like action and Sci-Fi movies.
- Books:
I have to say I am not a big reader, probably because I am a very busy person, but I really enjoy fantasy and thriller novels.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the things I feel more proud of is receiving my scholarship for Canada. This made live a lot of wonderful experiences, I will list some of them.
- Net fishing thousands of salmons with a volunteer organisation to repopulate a river in Campbell River.
- Spending 5 days with an Outdoor Club canoeing in a beautiful lake inside Quadra island
- Joining musical theatre and ending up acting as one of the main characters of the play.
My other experiences come from Scouting:
- Backpacking in "Picos de Europa" and escalating up to "Collado Jermoso", a truly beautiful place in Spain.
- Volunteering for 15 days in Morocco with Taous association, working with children and getting to know the wonderful people from this village called Boudenib.
