About Me

Hi Y'all

I am Ye! (pronounced as yeah). I am a Korean international student studying Biology in Boston.

I lived in Auckland, New Zealand and Michigan, United Stated for 5 months each in my middle school and high school years, which led me to go to college in the States.

I LOVE getting out of my comfort zone to engage in new cultures, make friends from different backgrounds (Cuzz I do believe everyone is unique in their own way, but at the end, we are the same people). It is my pleasure to meet new people along the journey and learn from them (I mean...there is something to learn from even unpleasant people, right?). I can also be shy at first, but who can't be friends when you are open-minded, love joking, laughing, and story-telling?!? I don't just love experiencing new cultures, but also engaging in them and thinking like the people in the culture. I also have friends from all parts of the world.

I love traveling alone since that way- I get to actively interact with the locals and not just be a tourist. I learned how strong and independent I am through solo traveling. I also enjoy going to beaches, mountains, forests, lakes, sea and have a HUGE fantasy about going on rock climbing, wild camping (I mean...I have eaten a ton of fire-baked smores even without camping tho), snorkeling, scuba diving, and most importantly, sky diving!

I am planning to visit Brazil, Mexico and other Central/South American countries in the near future with my family. I have a DREAM to run my own food truck that serves egg, ham, and cheese PB and J, mayo grilled cheese, and butter milk chocolate chip pancakes with diabetic whip cream. I am passionate about eating all kinds of cookies, I die for good buttermilk fried-chicken, and museum-tours make my heart beat. I can be a sports-addict depending on the season... I love volunteering since it is the best way to join the community and to make a ton of GOOD friends. On the other hand, I am very independent and love being alone. I love learning anything related to science/medicine/arts/language/culture/cooking.

I will be living near my campus on Huntington Ave in Boston. I don't think I can host anyone since my place is small and doesn't have a couch, but I would love to offer you tours to good Bostonian spots, sports stadiums (I can get you $5 Red Sox tickets for 2 people), museums, and GOOOD restaurants.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I simply want to push my boundaries. I love meeting new people and learning from them. I believe I can learn something (or many things) from anyone and everyone I meet.

Music, Movies, and Books

I binge-listen to classical music and CCM now days but I also do listen to Disney songs, rock, and pop songs. I used to be a huge fan of likin park, MJ the king of pop, and Korn (Yes the K should be backward). I can be a weirdo to listen to Save a Lot jingle and May ya hee song for non-stop.

I have watched hundreds of all kinds of movies in my life (I can go on few days and nights to give a list of the movies I liked so far!).

I liked reading books more than watching TV as a kid, but not anymore (haha), but still like reading books and my favorites novels are To kill a mockingbird, The adventure of Huckleberry Finn, Jane Eyre, The phantom of the Opera...etc

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wore "I am Not Irish... but drink like I am" T-shirt at the St.Patrick's parade.

( I am going to brag-
I also did my one semester study abroad in University of Copenhagen in Denmark,
which was the most GLORIOUS experience in my entire life
I worked at an orthopedic hospital and a Neurology lab at Harvard/Beth Israel.)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to eat peanut-butter chipotle mayo fried chicken burger.

What I Can Share with Hosts

STORIES, JOKES, LAUGHTERS, and just simply listening to their stories.
I would love to join the activities they enjoy, parties, cooking...etc
I am clean and quiet (not when we are laughing) and can also be an very independent and "mind my own business" person if I need to.
