Overview
About Me
Hello everyone! I'm Maxime, I'm 28 years old, and I'm embarking on a new adventure of a language trip to Ireland, completely spontaneous and last-minute. I've traveled to various countries before, but this is a first for me, traveling solo in a country where I don't yet fully master the language. What really excites and motivates me, though, is the idea of not planning ahead and letting myself be guided day by day by the randomness of things.
Otherwise, I would describe myself as a sociable and cheerful person who greatly values human connections, meeting new people, exchanging ideas, and discovering different cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I find Couchsurfing quite amazing: it involves encounters with rich conversations, all in a spirit of goodwill and kindness. It also allows for expanding one's mind and discovering so many new things.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's hard to pick favorites... I'm a big movie enthusiast and I enjoy almost all genres, although I have to admit that I struggle with big Marvel productions or musicals (although I consider Lars Von Trier's "Dancer In The Dark" a masterpiece). Let's say I lean more towards independent cinema.
Among my favorite directors, I can mention Lars Von Trier as mentioned earlier, David Lynch, Terrence Malick, Gaspar Noé, Stanley Kubrick, Wong Kar-Wai, Nicolas Winding Refn...
While I'm more of a cinephile than a music lover, I still adore music. Rap, rock, pop, funk, techno... I think my favorite band remains Pink Floyd.
When it comes to literature, I owe my love for it to Charles Bukowski. I have a great appreciation for the works of John Fante, Hermann Hesse, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Henry Miller, Jack London, Irvine Welsh, and many more.
