Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I just finished my Bachelors at the TU Delft, The Netherlands, and will start with a Masters Bioinformatics at the FU Berlin in October. Very excited about it all and can't wait to get started! Since I do not yet know anyone in the area I thought I'd try to meet some new interesting people through Couchsurfing :)

Interessen

I love sports and outdoorsy stuff. Hiking, cycling, climbing, swimming, camping, you name it.
And when indoors at the end of the day, I very much enjoy cooking. I love the 'making it' part as well as coming up with interesting new recipes to try. Always welcoming guinea pig volunteers! ;)

My field of study is molecular cell biology. I find gene technology and cell biology super interesting and hope to combine these interests with the computational power of computer science in my Masters program.

And to finish of this personality profile: virtually nothing beats a steaming cup of coffee while reading a good book in bed on a Sunday morning.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

My music favorites are all over the place, way too much to list! Nevertheless, of course not nearly enough to last a lifetime, so I'm always eager to discover new sounds. I especially love live music.

Really into reading. My all time favorite book probably is The Shadow of the Wind by Zafon, though there were a few close calls. The most recently read book that stole my heart would be The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro, would definitely recommend!

On the matter of movies, honestly, if it comes with a bowl of popcorn and someone to watch it with, count me in!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I moved to Curaçao for a year, to work in both a hospice and an animal rescue center (balancing out sad times with training puppies, works like a charm). And I went hiking in the John Muir Wilderness in California this summer. To have a stunningly beautiful mountain lake to yourself for a morning swim: truly amazing!
