About Me

I was born the 5th of December 1995 in Kempten (Allgäu) as a son of a Colombian father and an Italian mother. I grew up in Allgäu, a region in the very south of Bavaria. In addition to the Allgäu I always had a second home: Rome, the city where a part of my grandparents lives. In contrary, my contact to Colombia, which I visited only twice, is not as profound as it is with Italy.

At school I already discovered my passion for literature, especially for German literature. Since the eighth grade I knew that I wanted to study German studies. Hence, after I graduated from highschool I started to study German studies as my major at Freiburg University in 2015. My minor is Sinology, a subject that has begun to arouse my interest for China and Chinese language and moreover for history and politics. First, choosing sinology as my minor, was a kind of crazy idea. Now I see in this initial crazy idea the best choice I’ve made in connection with my studies. In 2016 I had my first trip to China. I took part in a three-week study trip to Nankai University in Tianjin. This was an experience that motivated me to devote myself even more to the study of this country and its language. One year later I studied one semester abroad in Kunming at Yunnan Normal University. Now I’m back in Freiburg looking forward to finishing my bachelor degree soon.

In my spare time I like playing chess, watching movies, talk with people, cooking and drinking with friends.
