About Me
A Linguistics nerd who has just started her life of travel :) My dad says I'm a polymath... I think I just have a large pool of curiosity. I enjoy connecting with people, exploring deep topics in conversation, and learning about the world through experiencing it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have always wanted to travel, but have never had the courage to just pack my bag and go do it. It's time for a change.
Through CS I have met some of the most interesting people with fascinating life stories. I think this is beautiful. Sharing stories and experiences with others is one of the most enriching gifts that life has to offer, and I look forward to discovering more of the world and the wonderful people in it (like you!) through this platform :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Khalil Gibran. Dan Brown. Allan Watts. Jack Kerouac. Charles Bekowski. Anaïs Nin. Maria Papova. Krista Tippet. Jazz. Classical guitar. Philosophical rap. Blues. Indie. Most music really.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I shook hands with Barack Obama once (for real!) The moment felt so surreal. The man's presence commands an entire room without him saying a word, an unspoken charisma which emanates from his being.
It was an honour to have met him at the University of Johannesburg in 2014 during his visit to South Africa. Let's grab a coffee, you and me, and I will tell you all about it :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Here are some things I have dabbled in:
- Public speaking and storytelling (I have given a TEDx talk),
- Free-dived on the coast of the Western Cape (I was a scuba-diving intern in Sodwana bay during my gap year), - Slept under the stars of the Cederberg mountains (as a member of the South African Scout movement)
- Founded three start-ups (all around tech female empowerment)
- Mentor undergraduate students in Global Citizienship and Personal Leadership
- Am studying my fourth degree (I have a background in Computer Science, Linguistics and Business)
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a couchsurfer, I'm a neat and tidy person who likes to chat, but I am also comfortable in my solitude. I am mostly open to new experiences and accommodating. I like to cook and am happy to make and share a meal with you, something South African if you would like! For longer stays, I like to leave a small thank-you gift for your hospitality and welcoming me into your home :)
