My name is Marcel. Currently living in Schiedam, place very close to Rotterdam. I am a Mechanical engineer and can talk about machines for as long as you like. Of course, I can share my knowledge with you if you are up for that. I am a sailing instructor and I use every opportunity to go and sail. I am not currently teaching but I did that for over 6 years. I also played hockey for years and still do from time to time.

I traveled a lot and met loads of interesting people on the way. And my goal is to keep doing that. I have some cool stories to share, and would also love to hear yours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am relatively new to Couchsurfing but I have a lot of experience in hosting people so I decided to join here as well. I am part of Yes Theory community, if you don't know about it you should definitely check it out, or simply ask me. The main point of it is for people (form all around the world) to meet and have fun!

I can offer you a place to stay if you are visiting this area, but I would also love to just meet up and hang out. I know Rotterdam very well and I can be your tour guide.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had and awesome time traveling trough India with three guys I didn't knew before - we met there. And during that time I tried bungee jumping for the first time and it was amazing!

As I mentioned before, I can share my skills and knowledge with you. And I am interested to hear about yours. I love to have a good conversation with people who are passionate.
I will gladly teach you about the Netherlands. There are many interesting stories about the country as well as Rotterdam. Full of history and interesting facts. I can show you the other cities, depends on how much time we will have!

I am offering a place to stay, friendly conversation and relaxed time. As many of us on Couchsurfing, I want to host people who are here to hang out and make memories together, and are not coming here just for free accommodation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very good at fixing things and I would gladly help you or give you advice. I can share all the crazy adventures I had. Depends on the situation, but I am sure I can bring you some Dutch sweets to try! I can teach you rules of hockey, or teach you more about sailing!
