About Me
We are a German-American couple, that are making our way around the world. We met in Asia 2,5 years ago and have been travelling together since. Having planned on going back to Germany to visit my family Dan decided to come with me. Before we left Asia he proposed. Having spent three years in Asia we decided to move on to Europe and get married in Copenhagen. We will see where life takes us next. :-)
We are a fun couple that likes to joke and laugh. We are relaxed and laid-back. We love to wander around, explore the nooks and crannies of cities, towns and nature. We are a non-smoking, vegetarian couple that knows the meaning of respect (for people, homes, cultures etc.), cleanliness and tidiness. We try to live a healthy life.
A few words about Dan:
He lived in Boulder, Colorado for 13 years before he decided to leave the US in April 2015 to traveling the world, experiencing other cultures, life and people. He is a joker by nature, loves to laugh and drops silly jokes whenever the opportunity arises. He is very laid back, very clean and neat. He enjoyes good conversation and has a lot of different experiences to share. He is a scuba diver, climber, biker, hiker ... a real outdoor adventurer and explorer (ready to jump out of a plane given the opportunity :-) ). On a much calmer note he is also a serious meditator. He loves specialty coffee and has become a tea geek during his travels, has great Chinese teas and a travel tea brewing setup which he loves to share!
A few words about me:
I resigned my job in August 2015 to travel for ten month in Asia. This journey led me on one hand through fantastic landscape and vibrant cities in India, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia and Sri Lanka and on the other hand back to my happiness. It was an awesome and life changing experience for me. After three months at home in Germany (July-September 2016) I decided to pack my bags and head back to Southeast Asia following the slogan: After the journey is before the journey - or: the adventure starts again. :-) I am an open-minded, positive-thinking and creative person, very interested in photography and art. Nature is my inspiration. For me it's fascinating to look into a sky full of stars, listen to the wind, the rain, waves at the beach or a river in a valley. During my travels I took a meditation course and since then I try to meditate regularly. Shortly after that I rediscovered Yoga and have been trying practise that regularly as well. I am sharing my travel experience on my blog www.nancy-auf-reisen.de. (Unfortunately, the English version isn't up to date, but take a look or use google translate :-D: http://english.nancy-auf-reisen.de)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To experience real people and their culture. The best way to do that is staying with a local and seeing life through their eyes. We know there are great people all over the world and Couchsurfing has helped us to connect with some of them.
We have been on CS for a few years now. As we got married in October 2018 we've decided to create a profile for both of us. As this is new there are no references on it yet. I, Nancy, have a bunch of references as we have generally used my profile to get in contact with the Hosts. Please feel free to check our individual profiles also (Nancy Frömming and Dan Kennedy on our 'Friends'-page above).
