About Me
Hi stranger!
I am Aydın. I am a 23-yo university student from Istanbul, Turkey. I enjoy doing a wide array of stuff. Particularly new experiences and places intrigue me and my interests tend to change fast! In time, however, I have managed to sum up what I mainly like doing: travel, sightseeing, writing, learning new languages and cultures, getting acquainted with the history of places I visit, getting to know new people.
That might appear as quite a list but I assure you, I am usually able to satisfy those interests at the same time.
I am also running an Instagram blog. I label it as a travel journal. Would you also like to indirectly participate in my quest for adding new cities to my blog? :)

If you are unsure of my credentials, you are welcome to send me a friendship invite on my main account: https://www.instagram.com/aydindebulbuls/

Music, Movies, and Books
-I do not have a favourite music or band; it tends to change over time, depending on my mood. I like old rock music and old pop. I am fond of Turkish folk music, too!
-As for movies, the Last Samurai, Gladiator, Blood Diamond, Twelve Angry Men, Rear Window, Interstellar, Godfather series, Scent of a Woman, the Heat, and so on! To be more general, I like Al Pacino, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Robert de Niro, Cem Yılmaz, John Cusack; Alfred Hitchcock, Sidney Lumet... and many others whose names I cannot remember now
- Although I have many favourite books, The Stranger by Albert Camus is my all-time favourite. It is the book thanks to which reading has become a hobby for me. My reading taste has inclined over time towards 'roman à clef' type novels.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In May 2022, we were able to realize a dream tour with my friends. We would intermittently talk about going for a week-long car trip and stopping by wherever we wanted. We had enough savings and only reserved some places in Greece. However, after we left Greece and steered our direction to North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Romania, nothing was preplanned. At times, we decided in a moment where to head next.
I can't tell you how liberating a feeling it was! Not having plans and just being on the road. A small step for humanity but surely a huge one for me and my friends. Unforgettable time...
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like talking with strangers, hearing their stories, learning their culture and system. What I can offer is a similar cultural exchange. I consider myself knowledgeable about Turkey and Istanbul. If you are looking for someone with whom you want to walk outside anytime you want, I'm your guy :) I am very flexible and I can fully conform to the rules of my host. I can assure you there shall be no nuisance :). Feel free to speak your mind and be open from the outset, I am quite compliant
I am fond of hearing stories. If you are talkative and like sharing personal stories or stuff pertaining to country or city, I am ALWAYS all ears!!!
I can cook menemen, a Turkish breakfast course but I can't speak confidently of what the outcome will be. My cooking skills are, ehm, volatile.
I can also bring some baklava or anything else you crave for or wonder about from Turkey
