About Me

Hi, there!

The first thing to know about me is I’m originally from Minnesota and I absolutely love being a Minnesotan. I miss the Twin Cities dearly but I’m so excited to be in a new city. I moved to Nebraska two years ago, and then just recently moved to Philadelphia to begin grad school. Since I’m in school and in student housing, I can’t currently host but I will update that as that changes.

My spouse and I recently got married and have two kitties we adore! Both of us love to travel and we actually met while in France.

I love talking religion, theology, interfaith discussions, queer identity & faith, politics, sustainability and so much more! I’m currently in seminary studying to be a pastor.

I traveled quite a bit in college abroad but I’m now looking to explore more of the United States. Hope you get to know me more below!

Peace,
Dana

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling but I’ve recently wanted more local experiences in my travels. I hope to travel more around the US in the next few years, as I haven’t seen much beyond the Midwest.

There’s also something so beautiful about someone opening their home to a stranger, and vice versa, and to be a gracious host!

Interests

I enjoy reading (fiction and theology!), beer tasting and going on brewery tours, talking theology, playing board games (the spouse and I have 50+ games), yoga, listening to podcasts, doing escape rooms, traveling!

Music, Movies, and Books

Folk/bluegrass is my favorite, I’m a big fan of Harry Potter, Gilmore Girls, and my fav books at the moment are Catcher in the Rye, Accidental Saints and Soul Feast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Started seminary.
Moved to the East Coast after only visiting once.
Met my spouse at a monastery in France.
Adopted a kitty.
Was a volunteer at a prison for a year and a half.

I am happy to bring wine, beer, food, a trinket from Philadelphia as a sign of my gratitude for Couchsurfing!
