About Me

I am a PhD student in robotics. To be precise, i work towards using a brain theory called free energy principle to make smarter artificial intelligence agents.

I am an avid reader, arts and literature enthusiast, story collector and a traveler. I got lucky enough to travel to 19 countries, and see the history, nature and culture of those regions!

I travel, capture and collect stories. I like to get into the stories of people and their experiences. I love to know about different cultures of the world and to experience all of it.

Maybe in this quest to find the true meaning of life, i am not alone!

With a million things i have seen and with a million stories to tell, i travel for more. Traveling is liberating. To view from top of a mountain after a strenuous hike is heart warming. I revel in that feeling of achievement.

And i combine artistic attempts of photography, sketches and fiction writing along with my travels.

My aim is to travel around this beautiful world and learn about human life and culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am a collector of stories. I used to write fiction, and in the distant future, i will get back to it in full stretch.

I like to listen to people and their stories, just like how a writer collects stories as bits and pieces from around him, meticulously carving down his masterpiece. Traveling enables this craving.

While caught up in the journey of life, we meet a lot of people and hear their stories. And i want to listen to yours. Maybe, your story is worth to be immortalized through a written work? Maybe your life itself is a work of art?

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot, mainly fiction. Here is the list of a selected few.

• One hundred years of solitude: I have never seen anything like it. Never thought of solitude in these many dimensions! Definitely recommended.
• Midnight’s children: Magical realism at its best. Graciously blending history and magic to create a strongly reverberating story line! Its the winner of Booker prize and also the best of Booker prizes of all time. Should i say more?
• Lolita: Poetically profound language. A beautiful yearning of love and lust which is at the same time repugnant and beautiful. That's something most writers can't achieve.
• The God of small things: Another poetically profound masterpiece. It takes me back to my hometown. The imagery is too strong that all the little things in the world spirals around into the making of an enchantingly captive and heart wrenching tale.
• Love in the time of cholera: This book should formally be used as the definition of love. Nothing less.
• 1984: Oh boy, a political masterpiece! The mind games the government can play to create a stable and corrupt system!
• The Inheritance of loss: A big weight over the heart. How can loss be so brutal?
• The Kite runner: The innocence of childhood amidst the war zone. It's a heart wrenching tale of what war does to children.
• A thousand splendid suns: Another one from Hosseini surrounding Afghan war. This clearly shows what's its to be like to live in the middle of one of the most unsafe places in the world. It tears your heart!
• Catch 22: The perfect satirical war novel! A whole new level of the absurdist philosophy!
• Metamorphosis: Kafka’s masterpiece. The plot begins by the protagonist waking up as a monstrous vermin! That’s Kafka for you! If you are into absurdism and existentialism, this is the one for you!
• Khasakkinte ithihaasam: A true masterpiece from Malayalam. It takes you through a spiritual journey of awakening. Makes you look inside of yourself to find answers to the most profound questions in the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got my passport, UK visa, Canada visa, camera, laptop, tuna sandwich, one year of my PhD research notebook, Microsoft mug with my name engraved, British museum souvenirs, apartment keys for Netherlands etc stolen in London. I survived and still enjoyed rest of London.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A million stories to tell.

I meet friends on the way and talk for 2-3 hours without noticing how the time fleets away.

That's what i've got to offer.

Stories. Stories. Stories.
