About Me

I'm an amateur photo-taking, mountain-loving, Czech native, that grew up in Germany and who enjoys to travel short-term :-) I have done a work and travel year in Australia between my studies as well as New Zealand after I have decided to quit my job in the office. I have a Master degree in International Business, however, I have changed my career path completely and I am now working seasonally in Switzerland. I started (like many :) a bit of a travel blog, but more out of curiosity if I could get into it and so far just as a learning process for myself. At the moment, I am stuck with setting up the website :-D I am interested in different kind of things - especially meeting people and learn sth new from them or talk about an interesting perspective on topics. I am basically a nice and smiley person. Sometimes a bit of an overthinker - an extroverted introvert if you will. I am always happy to help others and I enjoy getting nice tipps and some cultural opinions or insights from people. I can get angry if I feel that I am being disrespected or treated unequally. I enjoy the occasional night out, especially dancing, but the super crazy nights are a thing of the past. Now, I am interested in being outdoors in nature or wandering cities and get to know new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am just about to start with couchsurfing - better late than never, right? :-D That way I hope to meet interesting people and the - as I like to call them - The One Percent :-) People who are curious and kind by heart. Those, who see a bit beyond things at first sight and think a bit deeper. The ones that struggle with the BALANCE between the money driven ego and the "things we should do" and the modest spiritual minimalism and the "living your dreams". Because hippies can wear suits and the poorest guy in the street can be the smartest. Btw, I am defo not looking to hook up :-D For sure I feel and probably also act younger than I am, enjoying the life and learning to take things as they come along, happy to not get stuck in the lethal routine of everyday life. I have tried the "planning it all out" and it didn't work :) I also hope for some networking with people who like to travel or do some outdoor sports. That said, I am not a super extreme high tech adventurer, but I am always up to do sth interesting - is it a hike, sightseeing, museum, bike ride, you name it. And how to discover the hidden germs of a place better than with the insights of a local? These interactions just make me happy ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

By now, I have been listening to all the genres I can imagine. I grew up with Rock music. My youth I spend dancing away to reggae, dancehall, jungle, etc. I came across electronic music on my travels but I am not such a big fan.

I am always wondering about the new "pop" culture on radio, since I am busy with life and cannot really keep track with that anymore :) I also dont mind shaking my butt to Beyonce or some Hip Hop. And then there are the classics like e.g. Beatles, Frank Sinatra and maybe others I wouldn't know now, that I can listen to as well.

Music is always a mood thing. The most relaxing music for me, when I am not with people, is the sounds of nature - birds, wind, stillness. A bit romantic and cheesy I know, but seriously isn't it sometimes nice to have it quiet after you spend a day at work listening to so many people talking and asking questions :-D ?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That, I would not know. I sure haven't done things I am proud of :-D but I am trying to be as authentic as I am, unless no one cares about that and it’s a waste of energy and time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Yes, yes and yes. Or maybe just play a game of cards or watch a movie? :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I do suck at cooking , sorry. But I am a bit of a life philosopher and I can clean very well :-D
