About Me

We are a friendly family who lives near the Baltic Beach in Gdansk www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKAHTrXCsmk

We like to get new experiences and like interesting and happy people.
I, Helen and my husband, Karen have a lovely eight-year-old daughter who absolutely loves having guests too! She is very eager to meet and welcome anybody. And if you spend 30 minutes playing with her - you are her friend forever.
We love traveling, and travel often - for business, leisure, for sports (tracking, cycling, walking, etc). We try to get something unique out of each trip, look for some incites.

If you just want a free place to sleep and rest so, unfortunately, we are not right for you, we would like to know about you and your country, culture, experience ....we believe every person is like a nice book which you can learn and see from their perspective to life.
We love the guests that to want more than guests, it doesn't mean you want you to spend more time with us because we are busy too but the quality of this time is important.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have lots of international friends, and generally open-minded, and 'person of the world'. So my guests would enjoy staying with me if they are international-minded and opened for ideas and exchange.
Sometimes I like bringing 'travel' experience to my home by hosting a couple of travelers - that's why I am on CS)))
I love to meet new people, whole families! to talk to them, to show them my city, to share my experiences, travel independently, to discover new places through their residents.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Ideally, we would hope not only to swap places, but also exchange tips regarding what kind of tours/attractions/places that you think we should enjoy in your hometown.
Gdansk was recently voted on the 5th place of TripAdvisor's "Traveler's Choice Destinations" 2018! https://www.tripadvisor.com/TravelersChoice-DestinationsontheRise

Our city lies on the southern edge of Gdańsk Bay (of the Baltic Sea), in a conurbation with the city of Gdynia, spa town of Sopot, and suburban communities, which together form a metropolitan area called the Tricity (Trójmiasto), with a population approaching 1.4 million and around two million tourists visiting every year.

If you have not heard about the Polish Riviera before, you should see this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKAHTrXCsmk

Old Town is 8 km away (30 min by public transport). There are lots to do in Tricity (Gdansk and surrounding two smaller towns of Sopot & Gdynia).

Founded in the 10th century, it was well-known for its tolerance for a mixture of cultures and religions. Gdańsk had very strong links with the Netherlands, and even now you can notice the resemblance of some elements of the architecture in the Old Town of Amsterdam. Todays, Gdansk is a lively city with around half a million inhabitants.

Gdansk is the place where the 2nd World War started and where the fall of Communism has also taken its start - it is the hometown of Lech Walesa and the cradle of Solidarity movement.

We will offer insiders' tips on how to avoid tourist traps & where to go with kids, which are the best restaurants, where to find secluded beaches and which museums you should visit.

Of course, we will reciprocate the recommendations and guide you to tons of places to see and do within or just outside of Gdansk (i.e. did you know that largest preserved brick castle in Europe is just an hour away from Gdansk? Google "Malbork castle"). You can also visit Kaszuby (about 1-hour drive from Gdańsk), which is a lake district (over 700 of them) with its own language, cuisine, and breathtaking forests and valleys.
