Overview
About Me
I have decided to leave my job as a Chartered Surveyor in the UK and to travel. I have hosted travellers to my home and hope to Couch surf to other parts of the world. I have already visited Canada and Mexico. I really enjoyed my time in Mexico and intend to visit South America next year. In the meantime I will be visiting Guatemala in December for 6 weeks and looking forward to exploring the country. I am trying to learn Spanish and this will provide a great opportunity to immerse myself in the culture and life style. I am a easy going, relaxed and have a good sense of humour. I am keen to meet people from different backgrounds and hope we can exchange ideas, experiences and learn from each other.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couch surfing is a great way to meet local people who would be able to provide guidance and advice on where to visit in any given country.
Interests
These include reading, writing, visiting new countries and people.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love all types of music, I managed to see Radiohead and Artic Monkeys in Canada earlier this year.
Reading and films are a passion, spending far too much time at the Phoenix cinema in Leicester where they show art house and foreign films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived off grid for 4 months helping people to form a sustainable commune. The whole experience was amazing, working with people from different back grounds and ages. My construction knowledge helped with designing the site to allow progress to be made
Teach, Learn, Share
My back ground is in construction and project managed multi million pound projects in the uk. I hope my knowledge and experience may help anyone who may want to refurbish or build a new house or maybe something more extravagant
What I Can Share with Hosts
I try to share and enjoy life as much as possible, but also believe in hard work where necessary. A balanced life style is important but what ever you do it must be done with enthusiasm. Learning and sharing from others is also important.
